Definitely worth a look

I enjoyed this book, the story is a little simple but I deeply enjoyed the ideas and general run of the story. Waiting for the next one to see how the story continues! Can’t wait to see the next little big babies in the follow up !

Binged in 3 Days

Easily one of my new favourite stories and I see why it’s so popular on Royal Road. Great characters and solid action with even better antagonists.

The books very well written and the narrator kept me hooked the entire time. I’m excited for when the next publication released Feb 2023.

Good idea, lacking execution

This idea on paper is something I'd honestly love to see and is why I brought this book but honestly it's okay at best.

I'm 10 hours in and I'm honestly bored of it as the story is going round in circles and the MC both isn't likeable, sympathetic or relatable. I don't however think this book is awful, it's just not to my tastes and isn't the litrpg I thought it was as it's much more of just being an isekai.

I really don’t like Marcus

I’ll start with what I did like. I loved the goblin perspective and they’re strategies. Additionally I think the perspectives of the marquess and the other humans was pretty good and provided some much needed levity.

However, I really disliked Marcus as a character and the authors insistence on telling me in to much detail about them laying eggs. It was incredibly awkward and sometimes gross how it was tied in with the plot. Marcus is very winey as a character and his sometimes incredibly stupid decisions made him really hard to like as a character.

I felt that the attempt to insert fantasy politics was the right decision to make thing interesting after Marcus left the forests, however the fact that he casually reveals information about his powers and capabilities to strangers and seemingly accepts their input and manipulations without question particularly infuriating. He is being used by the humans and now the goblins to their own ends and whilst it makes sense that they try and do this Marcus either seems not to care or to fully buy into what ever they tell him. Like wise I feel that there were no consequences, when Marcus was fighting the goblins in the forest he was constantly being outplayed by the general who trounced him by using superior tactics and intelligence gathering. Marcus and the marquess seem to be trusting each other and working together for no other reason then the plot decided it. The goblins working with the humans and now Marcus at least makes logical sense from a strategic stand point but it seems like anything involving Marcus has a magical/political plot armor involved protecting him from the realistic consequences of his actions. That combine with me not liking him just made the book frustrating.

I really liked the idea of hive minds in a fantasy world, however the execution of this one was just not that great.

Bit too Kinky

I liked the idea behind this story for most of it but the Egg laying felt a bit kink motivated throughout but I thought whatever, I'll ignore it because its a cool idea.

Towards the end there's a scene where the main character seems to get 'drunk' from coffee and I had to stop listening as the character was being recklessly lewd and it kind of put everything into perspective

I'm not here for weird Kink listening. If you can put up with it then its an enjoyable enough book otherwise.

You don’t need to swear and curse all the time

I hate how vile the language of this audiobook is. Swearing and cursing adds nothing to the story but it does dissuade the Christian demographic from listening to your content.
