The Edge Series

It starts out as a bet....A way to forget about my latest in a string of bad relationships and move on. I know it's a mistake. Especially when I have a terrible knack for picking the wrong men. Then I see him. The gorgeous man in the dark suit, drowning his sorrows in a glass of scotch is only supposed to be one night of fun. No strings. Zero expectations. No one gets hurt. And when I wake up alone the next morning, it appears I've gotten everything I was after. That is until I find the shiny gold cuff links he left behind. Oh, and discover that he's my new boss.

My brother's best friend should have come with a warning label. The man was a cautionary tale and we were the ill-fated cliche. The star quarterback to my loner art geek. I fell, and I fell hard. A decade and a lifetime later, he's back. Only instead of being the star jock, he's now a surgeon. As if all that isn't bad enough, he has it in his determined, arrogant head that we should pick up where we left off. But this time, it'll take more than devouring looks and the rush of his touch to temp me back into his bed. And my heart? Not an option. 

I have a certain set of rules I try to live by. Rules that have always served me well. Until now...Rule one: Don't have sex with someone you work with. Rule two: Don't have sex with your friend's ex-boyfriend. Rule three: Don't have sex with your best friend who also happens to be the same ex-boyfriend of your friend. Rule four: Don't ever, under any circumstances, fall in love with your best friend. I guess it's safe to say, I officially broke all four of my rules.

I met him on my last New Year's Eve in New York. Sparks flew. Madness ensued. And after the hottest night of my life, I ran out on him. Three years later, he and I come face-to-face again.
