Sky Realms Online is the largest and most popular Virtual Reality MMORPG ever made. Set amongst the mystical, floating islands of Hankarth, it's played and enjoyed by millions every hour. Until something goes wrong. Unable to log out, players find themselves reduced to level one, and in the starting zones. They receive a cryptic message from the developers stating that for unknown reasons, they are trapped in the game and may have to live out their lives within the virtual world.

Hall had thought he knew everything about the game, but he’s finding every day that things are different in this new, broken version of Sky Realms Online. There are new game elements, new enemies, and even new locations. After just barely surviving his first boss fight, Hall finds himself in one of those new locations. He's become the lord of a ruined and isolated village called Skara Brae, deep in the middle of hostile territory. Hall and his companions must make the long trek to the city of Silverpeak Keep for much-needed supplies, or they'll risk losing everything.

Hall had hoped things would finally start to settle down. He should've known better. He's been trapped within the new version of Sky Realms Online for months. Mostly at peace with it, he's started to make a new life within the game world. He's found a woman to love, the NPC Druid Leigh, and a village to call home. Skara Brae is still mostly ruins but he now has friends and citizens to help rebuild. But he's still missing many of the resources needed. 

It's been weeks since Hall and his newly formed guild, the Breakridge Irregulars, returned to Skara Brae. The village continues to grow but faces new challenges every day. Gaining a level opens fresh quests for Hall to take on, and leads the Breakridge Irregulars on a voyage for their first dungeon crawl in an updated Sky Realms Online. Hall will encounter prisoners from unknown lands, demons, new foes and more in the tunnels of the abandoned Dwarven outpost of Greenfire Depths.

Between raiding Red Caps and dives into the local dungeon, danger seems to lurk around every corner. Adventure. It makes Hall wonder if he should remain as Lord of Skara Brae. The excitement of life in the wild calls to him, but so do his responsibilities. Both duty and adventure collide when members of the Greencloak Rangers, Hall's favorite faction from the original game, arrive in Skara Brae seeking Leigh's help in her role as Druid Custodian. 

The game has changed multiple times. He's faced demons and new races. He's found love and a town to make a home in. He's found friends and companions, discovering that there is more to the NPCs than previously thought.
