could have been better
There seems to be a lot of repetitiveness. Additionally there is no real relationship development. Instead of all the time jumps perhaps fill in that time with developing bonds between the characters. Given this is in a bundle its worth the money. I just don't think its worth purchasing then individually.

hardly worth the credit
I listen to a lot of litRPGs, and I have to say this has been pretty bad. Characters are good, but the RPG math is just atrocious, left me many times thinking WTF! The entire 4 book series would have been better as a regular fantasy book, and with out the litRPG narration it would be good legnth for 2 books. Was it worth the credit, yeah, but barely, and that is only because I'm running out of books over 10 hours.

Get sucked into the game!
After recently discovering Pavi Proczko, it was a no brainer to jump on this book! I felt like this was more of a "G" rated litRPG, than I had suspected, well... I do tend to forget that fighting with swords, and battle axes maybe a bit much for some middle readers, so it might be leaning towards "PG" status... But that's not a bad thing it just surprised me! All the players, who survived, find themselves trapped in this game, after the game crashes while they're playing, and then goes offline for 2 years! Now, without any hope of succor, Hall, who has been playing the game since beta testing, receives a final notice from the game Dev. That message pretty much said "Sorry you're stuck, and cesť la vie!" Instead of freaking out, Hall decides to just play the game, since the game is now his "reality"... Hall, finds himself demoted essentially, back to the entry level status of a new gamer! As Hall had always played as a spear-wielding Skirmisher, he decided that that would be the right choice of character, as he already knew this half-elf avatar the best. He left the tavern and bumps into another player Roxhard, who's avatar is a tanky Dwarf... they team-up and go off on their first quest, but little do they know how much the game has changed in the 2 years it had been "off line". Hall and Roxhard never looked back once they got going! I immediately became sucked into the game and Hall's storied life... I'm pretty sure that you will too, so grab the first book (Greyhold) or better yet, grab Sky Realms Online, and get the first 3 books for one credit!

Well ... meh
The story is decent for what it is. The author repeats explanations even with in the same chapter wasting time (didn’t need to be reminded why the 14 yo was in a dwarf body so much). As for the narrator his performance was bland. He sounded bored the whole way. Most of the time there’s no energy, although he does show plenty during his “system message” lines.

Good bones of a story, needed editing badly
Let me start with the narrator - he put me to sleep so many times I struggled with getting through the book. He was monotone and didn’t pause for breaks in the story, such as when it jumps ahead in time or changes scenes. As the story has unrealized potential, a strong narrator could have lifted it to a overall 4stars whereas I’m being generous with this week 3 star review. The story. As I said there is great potential but the editing was sorely lacking. The MC has A LOT of rambling thought processes that take him nowhere as when he thinks he might have come to a conclusion he’ll finish it by “or does it?” or words to that effect. I like the moral of the MC and I found myself interested in his progress as well as his pal Roxhart, but other characters were 2-dimensional, especially the women. The story could have been half the length and still got everything that happened across, as there’s a lot of repeating thoughts, long excessive detailed descriptions of things that don’t add to the story and not enough storyline action. Still not a bad story, just underdeveloped, and I don’t regret the 1 credit I spent on it.

To be clear, it could have been the unenthusiastic narration or it could have been a trickling storyline. I'm not sure. I didnt dislike the first 3 books and enjoyed parts of the story. However it was a long wait in between the good moments and the drawling plot.

Great series
e this series, it has a great cast of characters, both good guys and baddies. The premise of everyone going back to level 1 but still remembering the game world really works well, especially when the world is not quite the same as what they remember. I would say the series isn't action packed, but this is good as it gives room for the story to grow and adds more depth to the story. While Hall is the mc, the author has given lots of attention to the supporting cast again adding to the overall depth. The quests are well thought out and all move the story along and of course the battles are great. While the star of the show is Troy's writing, the narration by Pavi Proczko is beautifully done. He has a relaxed tone that flows really well and compliments the author's style.

Worthy Buy
A successful purchase and a worthy listen as i enjoy the narration on this and the characters brought to life are very likeable with a good development between quests and other relationships they have keeping this a easy listen without too many stats slowing the pace down. Having a set of 3 also helps in the flow as there is no wait to see what else happens next always something i like in a weighty listen. I requested this audio and have decided to leave my thoughts for everyone.

Good for RPG lit newbies
It's an interesting twist on people balancing game and real life with good main characters and not too much blow by blow fighting. I find the stats rather repetitive but the story makes up for it. Each book leads you further along the storyline and ends with tantalising hints of future twists but each books rounds the current story off nicely.

Buy it. Enjoy it. Fantastic read. Consistent
This review is written after the first book Review of the second book is at the bottom. Having finished the third I am actively looking forward to the fourth. Where to start. I enjoy LitRpgs but if I'm honest a lot of them aren't that good. Either the writer doesn't put enough thought into the system and thus one of the draws of the genre or they don't put enough thought into the characters and story. This book does not have those failings. The premise is simple, person stuck in RPG world and holds very similar to the anime Sword Art Online (a show I recommend you avoid, this book would have been a lot better) in its initial premise. The main character quickly adapts and is somewhat generic but that enables the reader to put themselves in their place. His internal reflections providing interesting insight into how different people may interact with this turn of events. It's the supporting cast and their interactions with the world and the new system are where the author really shows their forethought and from that gives the impression of a living breathing world where normal people have been thrust into extraordinary conditions. The tale so far is one of exploration and given its sold as a trilogy I have no qualm with this and it really draws you in. The book itself has a satisfactory ending and would happily be self contained. I'm just glad it's not. This makes it a definite buy, more than that this it is now my calibration for 4* for LitRpgs and so other books must be of this level to get 4*. Why not 5*? The Dungeon Lord series is my 5* calibration and has elements in it which blow me a way. This story is great it just doesn't hit that extra bit. Narration. The narration is good and really solid. Wil Wheaton is my 3* calibration. The narrator has a somewhat robotic tone but is easy to listen to, has good pacing and does a really good job. 4*+ is missing as he doesn't have a range of voices and for me a 4* narration has to add to the dynamics story. Overall if you enjoy LitRpgs this is a must. If you are curious about the genre this is a worth a listen. Book 2. Well that was listened to quickly. Another great read the author hints and tantalises with a greater story arc but without sabotaging the complete arc that the book follows. I continue to think this is a must for fans of the genre. On to Book 3!

I chose this rating because this isn’t personally my preferred genre but I liked it well enough to finish the book. It it well written and well performed.

Great series
Reminiscent of Sword Art Online but with more focus on character development instead of action
