For Taft Gaurdia, the answer was always fellow pilot Kaytha Morrow. But, with megacorporation DeCorp having made interstellar travel possible, Kaytha trained to one day leave the world behind. That day comes sooner than expected for them both when an industrial accident inside DeCorp sets off an apocalyptic chain of events.

After their daughter Luna gambled with the enemy, Taft, Kaytha, and a hobbled together resistance find themselves at a loss to fight back against the growing threat from the planet Kentaurus. With the former DeCorp factions now in league with the Kentauri military, there is seemingly nothing standing in their way of taking complete control of the colonized worlds.
