Fresh off a break-up and now unemployed, veteran and former high school English teacher Walker Reed is ready to succumb to a grim and hopeless depression. But when an enigmatic stranger stops him in the street, he's suddenly hurled into another dimension. There, Walker gets to build his own world from scratch following the Alpha Protocol, which invites special individuals from across the universe to become "Creators"—generating everything from their own land masses and celestial bodies to a comprehensive, recorded religion.

Walker Reed needs all the help he can get from Greek and Norse gods—as well as his goofy assistants, Virgil, Rimi, and Cagna—as he strives to perfect every technical detail of Symphony. He pains over each landmass, the system that governs this new world, and the civilizations that will soon span the breadth of the planet and determine the livelihoods of its creatures. As his world evolves and begins to take shape, Walker must come to terms with his new role as a god and what it means to truly guide Symphony's first people.
