Tras la creciente preocupación de una enfermedad, el padre de Santiago consulta al doctor Mansano y se somete a procedimientos médicos que a la postre terminan con su vida. Santiago, decidido a vengar la muerte de su padre, asesina al doctor Mansano. Aunque sus acciones fueron cuidadosas, Santiago se ve obligado a huir. En su viaje, conocemos los pensamientos que cruzan su mente y las pequeñas acciones que tiene que hacer para no ser descubierto.

Las lecciones de brujería que aborda Carlos Castaneda conllevan sus postulados a la conclusión de que los misterios del conocimiento secreto se disipan en el acto mismo de cobrar concreción definitiva.
