The book itself seems to be quite good, however, the tone is a lot different than previous books by the same author. there's a lot that gets said in this book that while it doesn't outright contradict what was said in other books seems to gloss over or omit things that occurred in previous books. given that these books are supposedly recollections of diary entries and things that actually happened to Carlos, the fact that in this book there are times when things are said that imply that events that occurred in previous books never happened.

However, all of this can be overlooked and just concentrate on the book as it is. the problem is the narration is not recorded very well or the narrator is not speaking clearly at times. I find this odd because it's the same narrator as previous books and I haven't had that problem before. there are times when words are said at the end of sentences that cannot be really heard properly and even with the volume turned up quite loud, you still can't hear that final word of a sentence.
