Papa Piet overleed op 5 januari 2003 aan de gevolgen van leukemie. Joost Swinkels was 5 toen hij zijn vader verloor, dus heeft hem ook nauwelijks gekend. In deze podcast gaat hij op een zoektocht: wie was zijn vader? Hij spreekt mensen die Piet goed hebben gekend en gaat 20 jaar na dato eindelijk het gesprek aan met zijn broer Coen. Dat hebben ze nog niet eerder gedaan. Ook papa Piet komt zelf aan het woord... Hij liet namelijk brieven en opnames aan zijn zoons na. De avond voor zijn 20e sterfdag ontdekt Joost een nog nooit gehoorde opname, speciaal gericht aan hem.
