Anika DuPont—Annie to her friends—is entering the final semester of her Superpower Studies degree at Tokyexico University. All she really wants before school starts is a nice, normal Christmas with her family, clear boundaries between herself and her superhero persona, and no shop talk. Anyway, despite her efforts, Annie's schoolwork has been taking a backseat to her career as a superhero on an alien reality TV show using her city as a set and her friends as Extras.

When Garrett adds atmosphere to his planet and opens a new portal to an amphibious world, he never expected to find it lacking natural resources, and worse, what it lacks in useful items, it more than makes up for with dangerous enemies and natural predators.
