    Mike Gattone
    Coach Gattone is USA Weightlifting's Senior Director of Sport Performance. Where he has held the titles of coach, official, USA Weightlifting and International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) board member, national and international meet director. Gattone started his career as a graduate assistant for strength at the University of Kansas. After KU Coach Gattone was offered a position at Great Plains Sports Science Training Center, a nonprofit gym working with at-risk youth teaching Olympic Sports. While there he hosted the 1991 Junior National Championships, the 1992 Olympic Trials, and the 1993 Senior National Championships. Because of his demonstrated experience directing meets, he was brought in as the competition director for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. After the Games, Gattone started working for the Chicago Bulls as an assistant strength and conditioning coach under Al Vermeil. In late 2001, he accepted a position with the U.S. Olympic Committee in Colorado Springs as Manager of Coaching Programs. After two years, he went back to Chicago and opened his own gym for sports performance, including weightlifting. Gattone added on a role as High Performance and Coaching Education Director for USA Weightlifting . In his tenure he ran the 2007 U.S. Nationals and the 2009 Pan-American Championships in Chicago. Gattone became a Manager of Sports Intelligence for Gatorade before returning to USA Weighlifting.

    Physical Education Program and an
    Assistant Professor of Physical Education
    and Sport Science Department at Winona
    State University. He is also the Sprint Coach
    for LaCrosse Aquinas High School. Prior to
    Winona State, Coach Martinez spent time as
    a Physical Education and Health teacher in
    the Blair Taylor School District and as a
    Physical Education Teacher at Riverway
    Learning Community. Martinez has a Doctor
    of Education in Physical Education and
    Coaching from Winona State University, He
    has a Master of Science in Education from
    the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and a
    Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical
    Education from Winona State University.

    Charlie Woida is a teacher and strength Coach at Pacelli Catholic School. His first two years he taught personal finance and entrepreneurial Development class, currently he teaches health and 3 weightroom classes; two fitness for life periods and 1 period of Advanced Strength and Conditioning. Prior to Pacelli Coach Woida was the director of Athletic Performance at St. Olaf College where he oversaw building a strength program from scratch. Woida was the director of performance for Olympic sports at the University of Montana taking over the position after 2 years as the Assistant Director. in his fourth year as director of athletic performance at the University of Montana. Two separate stints with the San Diego Padres and North Dakota State, along with stops at Minnesota, South Dakota State and Colorado State before joining the staff at
    Montana. Coach Woida initiated his career at the National Institute for Fitness and Sport as an intern in 2006, while he worked with several teams at Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis. Woida played baseball and football at Fergus Falls Community College and baseball at Division II Northern State in Aberdeen, S.D. He earned his bachelor's degree in fitness management in 2006 and his master's in exercise science from NDSU in 2008.

    Coach Canter is the owner of South County Youth Performance in Wakefield Rhode Island. Canter’s training facility is a successful passion project that allows for young people to train with or without their parents or guardians. Before SC Youth Performance Coach Canter taught weight training and PE as the assistant strength coach at Goose Creek High School in Charleston SC. Canter grew up in Virginia Beach where he was an assistant sport and strength coach at Landstown High School prior to Goose Creek. At Landstown he coached and help develop Percy Harvin, Damon McDaniel, and several other Division 1 Football Players. Percy won 2 National Championships at Florida and was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. Damon McDaniel attended FSU and was a top 5 WR in the country as a high school senior. Canter became the Head Football Coach at Landstown in the spring of 2006. Coach Canter spent a number of years in college football as a player and Coach. He played football collegiately at Virginia Tech for Legendary and Hall of Fame Football Coach Frank Beamer and moved into a strength and conditioning graduate assistant position in January 2004, immediately after graduation. He also worked under Master Strength Coach and Industry Legend Mike Gentry. Assisting with both the Olympic Sports and the Football Team within the weight room environment. Virginia Tech won the ACC Football Championship that fall in 2004 and played Auburn in the Nokia Sugar Bowl following the regular season

    Coach Adams is the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Sherrard High School in Sherrard Illinois. Prior to that Adams was at Augustana College where he was on the football staff as the offensive line and special teams coach. Before moving to Augustana Coach Adams was an Assistant Football Coach and head freshman/sophomore coach for Mercer County High School in Aledo, Illinois. While there, the team won the 2012 Class 2A State. Championship. While at Mercer Adams was also the Assistant track Coach working with sprinters and horizontal jumpers. He was also the head football Coach and Assistant Track and Field Coach at Sherrard from 2014-2016. Adams is a graduate of Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois with a degree in physical education, Adams was a varsity football player for the Scots and earned honors as a two-time Academic All-Conference performer. While at Sherrard Coach Adam’s strength and conditioning program was recognized by the National High School Strength Coaches Association (NHSSCA) as the Program of Excellence. Sherrard received the honor for the program’s excellence in safety, quality, efficacy, outreach, and highlighting. Coach Adams is USAW Level 1g, RPR Level 1 and Signal 6, High School Strength Coach Certified. Adams in his tenure has coached 2x Three Rivers Athletic Conference Champions in all sports, 15x Three River Athletic Team Champions, 4 State Champions, 6 Division1 athletes, a USA Jr. Olympic Team Member, 50+ Div. 3 athletes.

    Coach Cappos is the owner of Thower X, Prior to that he accumulated over 25 years of collegiate coaching experience. Cappos has had more than 100 athletes qualify for the NCAA Championships, coached more than 50 athletes to conference championships and All-America honors in the shot put, discus, javelin, hammer, weight throw, long jump, high jump, heptathlon and decathlon. Coach Cappos spent 7 years as the Assistant Throws Coach at the University of Nebraska, He spent 18 seasons as an assistant coach and director of field events at the University of Iowa where, his athletes rewrote the records in Iowa City,
    including eight of the top-10 all-time shot-putters, nine of the top-10 all-time discus throwers and all 10 of the top javelin, hammer and weight throwers in Hawkeye history. Before coaching at Iowa, Cappos was an assistant coach at Western Michigan University. He trained seven All-Americans during his tenure, and Western Michigan winning the MAC and CCC team titles both seasons. Cappos started his coaching career at West Salem High School in Wisconsin. Coach Cappos is one of a handful of USATF Level III certified coaches in the throwing events, he is a USATF Level II certified coach in the jumps and a certified instructor for USATF. Cappos coached with Team USA at the 2011 Pan American Junior Championships, leading athletes to 10 gold medals. Coach Cappos earned Regional Throws Coach of Year from USTFCCCA in 2007. Cappos was a professional track and field athlete while teaching and coaching. He competed at the Pan American Games, World University Games and the Commonwealth Games for Canada. During his athletic career at Indiana University, Cappos won the Big Ten Championship in the shot put in 1990 and 1991 and was a three-time All-American. He earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with a minor in social
    science.

    Coach Miller is the owner of Garage Strength Sports Performance and Throws University. Miller has Directly coached and oversaw the strength and conditioning for 12 Olympians. He was part of the Samoan Athletics contingent at the Tokyo Olympics and the Paris Olympics. From 2016 – 2025 Miller has Coached at every world championship for Olympic weightlifting and Track and Field. Coach Miller was the Strength Coach for the South Dakota State Wrestling Team - 3 Years producing 7 All-Americans Coach Dane threw for Penn State University where he was a five- time Big 10 place winner, track and field team captain, and four-time Academic All-Big 10 scholar athlete.
