Kayleigh worked in a children's hospital for a time and supported lots of women with breastfeeding challenges so she prepared for her first breastfeeding journey by seeing a lactation consultant and talking to friends and family about the realities of breastfeeding. Kayleigh tells us how she was supported in colostrum harvesting by a student midwife, and how this really helped when her milk was slow to come in.

Maria also took an online course with a lactation consultant before her baby was born, and found the information invaluable. Maria also talks about going back to work, weaning her babies, and exceeding her breastfeeding goals.

Support from healthcare professionals, family and friends is discussed by all, and how continuity of support really makes a difference.

Marguerite is a midwife and was worried that breastfeeding might not work out for her after having looked after many women over the years who faced a multitude of challenges. While she did have a few hurdles to jump, she's now and extended breastfeeder, an advocate for the right to breastfeed in public, and has been involved in the breastfeeding for black mothers movement providing education and helping to shift some traditional misconceptions.

Marguerite shares her personal experience and how that has informed her practice when caring for her clients.
