  • Episode 14 - Skyscraper
    Jul 22 2025
This week on The PM Entertainment Podcast, we ascend to dangerous new heights with 1996’s Skyscraper — the only Die Hard knockoff brave (or bonkers) enough to cast Anna Nicole Smith as your last line of defense against international terrorists in a downtown L.A. high-rise.

Helicopter pilot. Fashion icon. 90s phenomenon. Action star? Anna Nicole takes the controls as PM goes full high-gloss chaos with rooftop gunfights, shadowy conspiracies, and just enough awkward slow-mo to make John Woo weep.

Directed by Raymond Martino, and written by William Applegate Jr. and Joseph John Barmettler, this PM curio also stars Richard Steinmetz, Branimir Cikatić, Calvin Levels, Deron McBee, Jonathan Fuller, and Lee de Broux — and somehow gets even weirder than you remember.

Joining us for this vertigo-inducing ride are the action-loving brothers Brett & Ty Bargar from ComeuppanceReviews.net, who help us break down:
    • Anna Nicole’s one-of-a-kind action hero energy
    • PM’s spin on the Die Hard formula
    • Gratuitous nudity vs. gratuitous explosions
    • And whether Skyscraper truly earns its place in the PM hall of WTF
So strap in, grab your headset, and prepare for a 90s VHS fever dream that’s all cleavage, carnage, and corporate espionage!

  • Episode 13 - To Be The Best
    Jul 11 2025
    PM goes full-contact in Vegas!

This week on The PM Entertainment Podcast, we’re diving into To Be the Best (1993), a high-kicking, neon-drenched tournament brawler that’s part family drama, part underdog sports flick, and all PM-style action.

When a ruthless gambler threatens to rig the World Kickboxing Championship and steals our hero's woman, it’s up to Michael Worth as Eric Kulhane — along with his alcoholic, coach father (Martin Kove) and his punchy brother (Phillip Troy Linger) — to fight for honor, redemption, and justice in and out of the ring.

Directed by Joseph Merhi, with hard-hitting fight choreography from Art Camacho and beautiful, lush camerawork from Rick Pepin, this one brings training montages, bowling montages, love montages - so many montages - Vegas sleaze, dumb and doughy mafiosos, flying kicks, and helicopter explosions together in glorious 90s fashion.

We’re joined this episode by Chris Kacvinsky, action movie expert from the Bulletproof Action website, blog and podcast, to break down:

Tournament movies as a PM subgenre
The gambling plot meets family melodrama
    The many montages
And the film’s place in PM's output

PLUS — we sit down with Michael Worth himself to talk about the making of the film, working with Merhi and Camacho, and what it was like kicking and acting his way through one of PM’s most fight filled entries.

🇺🇸🏃‍♂️💥 Politics! Militia madness! and Jeff Speakman vs. William Shatner!

This week we dive into the 1998 PM flick Land of the Free, directed by TV movie vet Jerry Jameson. William Shatner plays a charismatic, secret militia-building, libertarian lunatic, running for Congress. Jeff Speakman is his loyal, assassin thwacking, campaign manager turned FBI informant who suddenly is on the run from everyone and has to dodge bullets, beat up henchmen, protect his family, and thwart Captain Kirk himself!

  • Episode 8 - A Dangerous Place
    May 5 2025
Karate, Car Theft & Corey Feldman Chaos

This week on The PM Entertainment Podcast, we’re roundhouse-kicking our way into the wild world of Ted Jan Roberts town, which seems to be A Dangerous Place — a martial arts teen flick that smashes together The Karate Kid, RAD, and No Retreat, No Surrender, then sets it loose in the lawless suburbs of PM Entertainment’s imagination.

Starring PM’s pint-sized powerhouse Ted Jan Roberts, this 1994 cult gem features a dirt bike-riding karate gang that maces hobos, trashes houses, and throws down for cash on the beach — all led by a delightfully unhinged Corey Feldman.

Add Marshall R. Teague, Erin Gray, Mako, and Dick Van Patten, and you’ve got one hell of a support cast.

We’re joined once again by Matt Poirier of the Direct to Video Connoisseur blog and DTVC podcast to break it all down, and we’ve got a special interview with Art Camacho, the man behind the fists — PM’s go-to fight choreographer and a legend of low-budget martial arts mayhem.

💥 Teen rebellion has never been this roundhouse-happy. Get ready for another deep dive into the punch-drunk glory of PM Entertainment!

  • Episode 7 - Intent To Kill
    Apr 29 2025
This week on The PM Entertainment Podcast, host Jon Cross dives headfirst into the mean, neon-lit streets of early ’90s L.A. for 1992’s Intent to Kill — a hard-edged, feminist twist on the vigilante cop flick starring Traci Lords, Yaphet Kotto, and Scott “Luke from Gilmore Girls” Patterson!
Directed by Charles T. Kanganis - PM workhorse and City Lights veteran - Intent to Kill delivers sleaze, swagger, and surprisingly inventive violence (gasoline-soaked panties, anyone?) as Lords goes rogue to clean up a city soaked in drugs, corruption, and sleazy men in tanktops.

Joining us this week is author, journalist, collector, and PM superfan Corey Danna! With a resume packed with contributions to The Good, The Tough, and The Deadly, HorrorNews.net, TheActionElite, and more, as well as his own, celebrated and highly rated biography: Sheldon Lettich: From Vietnam to Van Damme. Corey brings encyclopedic knowledge, genuine enthusiasm, and some serious PM plans of his own (hint: book incoming!).

Come for the Yaphet Kotto one liners, stay for the deep cuts and delightful tangents—this is another stacked episode straight from the grindhouse heart of PM Entertainment.
