About this listen

The Nat Zeroes is a chaotic, mostly clueless, always entertaining Dungeons & Dragons actual play podcast. Join John Frog (A literal frog rogue), Puppy Kittens (the lovable goliath brute), Vaelion (the righteous elf wizard), and Gurgles (the gnome brewer druid with a mysterious past) as they stumble, joke, and occasionally roll well through a completely homebrew fantasy world. We're a group of friends (and total D&D amateurs) recording our misadventures for your amusement. Expect laughs, bad dice rolls, unexpected plot twists, and an utter lack of critical success. The Nat Zeroes

The stage was set for the grudge match of the millennium. In one corner, Aelric Dawnweaver, a paladin so lawful he probably apologizes to his sword after sharpening it. In the other, Igneous Maximus, a rock golem who solves most problems by turning them into smaller rocks. Their war was about to reach its glorious, bloody conclusion.

That is, until the universe decided to interrupt their fight with a reality-ending apocalypse. A sudden tear in the sky, a monster made of cosmic nightmares, and just like that, their armies are gone and their war is officially postponed. Now, these two bitter rivals are the last men standing on a battlefield that looks like a glitching video game.

Their only hope is a shady elven scholar from the "Great Library of the Threads" who needs them to run a quick errand: pop over to the dimension where fate is made, grab a "keystone of reality," and fix the apocalypse. Simple, right? What could possibly go wrong when your only backup is the one person you were trying to kill five minutes ago?

Content Warning: This Dungeons and Dragons actual play podcast contains crude humor, adult language, and cosmic/existential dread.

    Jul 29 2025

The job was simple: foreclose on a dead man's haunted house and collect the cash. But for The Nat Zeroes, nothing is ever simple. Especially when the party's gnome druid celebrates a victory by drinking his own experimental hooch and turning into a pig.

Their attempts to get paid lead them into the bureaucratic heart of the Coin and Quill, where they discover a terrifying truth: their contract is void because, in the eyes of the universe's most powerful corporation, they don't actually exist.

Now, with their very essence in question and a shadowy "Auditor" on their trail, the party is given a choice: flee and be hunted, or take on a new mission to the lakeside city of Thistlemere to find out why they are an error in reality. What could possibly go wrong?

🎲 Episode 3 – The Gildacre Dinner Party Disaster

Welcome back to The Nat Zeroes - the D&D actual play comedy podcast where no plan survives contact with the dinner table!

This week, our barely-competent adventurers sign a totally-legit contract and find themselves at Gildacre Manor - where the only thing more cursed than the ghosts is the menu. With a room full of haunted NPCs and one very lost tax collector, the Zeroes soon learn that polite conversation can be deadly… and that ghost food tastes suspiciously like ash.

    Highlights include:

    • Gildacre Dinner Party Trap: The crew is ensnared at a haunted dinner table, losing control as they're forced to make small talk and eat food that turns to ash.
    • Puppy Kitten’s Heroics: While the others are spellbound, Puppy Kitten stays just smart enough to drag his friends to safety - sometimes by the horns.
    • John Frog’s Food Reviews: “This food tastes like ass!” John’s the first to catch on that things are very wrong at the table.
    • Moonshine as a Medical Device: Gurgles snaps the trapped tax collector out of his ghostly trance with a dose of homemade hooch.
    • Banters, Bickering, & Bad Ideas: Expect Gurgles’ rants about bees, horn-pulling shenanigans, and plenty of chaotic team “problem-solving.”
    • Dooreen, the Talking Door: The party faces a riddle door that only opens for the sincerely polite (it helps to ask nicely).
    • Surprise Loot & Relics: A vault full of gold, a magical “coin of certainty,” and rumors of ancient elven artifacts fuel greed and jokes alike.

If you like your D&D with heavy improv, haunted house shenanigans, and a cast that turns every riddle into an excuse for a punchline, you’ll feel right at home.

Will the Zeroes escape the dinner party, solve the manor’s mystery, and finally get paid - or just get roasted by ghosts and each other?

    Tune in to find out!
