In the city I was brought up in , here in the Waikato , Kirikiriroa (Hamilton). I grew up in a heavely occupied gang neighbour hood in regards to the eyes of colonizers. Through my eyes it was home and whanau familys , but sometimes the neighbourhood would raise up hell and go to work on different gang affiliates.

Gangs are apart of this society thanks to goverment initiatives that fail my people. Taking young kids from there homes and putting them in homes that have a high probability of sexual abuse and abuse in general.

Hence the gang culture was born.

I Korero with Bonnie Maihi, Rapper, MC , HipHop culture representitive and also a University scholar who is about to embark on her Doctorite.

Bonnie was brought up in a gang whanau and has been navigating this space since she was born. She is a leader in many ways and is also a serviver or cancer.

I had the the pleasure of sitting down and re connecting with an old friend, Maria Huata. Maria is a twin, her twin sister sadly past away not so long ago and I would like to acknowledge Pania Huata.

Dal is from the hood, I grew up with his brother Andre kicked it with our homie Brownie Koti who was murdered a few years ago. We all grew up in Fairfield and went to Insoll primary.

Terry Hills name is among some of the top Martial Artist in Aotearoa, Residing in Kirikiriroa (Hamilton) Terry runs his Sambu Kai and Karate Kickboxing gym. Ive had the pleasure of working along side Terry at numourous martial arts kickboxing MMA events. I even kick it with his sons now and then although now we getting older we like to stay home lol. 4 Corners is the crue, Kirikiriroa (H town) is the city , Waikato is the state. These are the contributing facts for the enviroment that 4 Corners came up in. One of the original founding members of the crew, Omega B aka Brett Wagner sits down with me as we start to unpack some of the great memories we share together in this HipHop culture journey. Omega B has been a pivital member of the HipHop community in Kirikiriroa since I was a teenager tagging the fences and buildings of the city. This will be an interesting one for the people who dont know the voice behind the decks on our 4 Corners shows and music video. It is 2025 and so much has happpened since I last did my Pod Cast.
Our Maori King Tuheitia passed away which broke many of our hearts. We crowned a New Maori Queen, Tuheitia's daughter Ngawai. 70 thousand people marched on parliment to protest against the goverments racist bill they try to pass. I was there with my wife and heaps of our friends, Maori and Tauiwi (Foreigners) together. My mum passed away as well as our cat got run over. I got disqualified from driving for 4 speeding tickets in the last 2 years and that was affective from Xmas day (Merry Xmas to Meee)
But hey , any way.
This weekend I met up with David Obeda, the creator of the famous Pod Cast TFS. My self and good friend Vin (Slip Of the Tongue "Villians,VMT") went for a stroll through our hood Enderly. We touched on the history of our neighbourhood and also spoke about some of the amazing people who do the mahi (work) for our community.
The next day I had the honour of sitting down and having David conversate on my Pod Cast about his lifes journey , his beliefs and values and how he come about this mahi he does. Here is David Obeda story in his own words.
