    The goal of NXTGEN Hightech is to bring the Netherlands back to the top. NXTGEN Hightech officially started in May 2023. The aim of the program is to bring the Netherlands back to the top and to contribute to solutions to major social challenges. To achieve this, the NXTGEN High-tech program will invest approximately € 1 billion until 2030 and will boost the Dutch economy with 330 partners. The National Growth Fund supports this program with 450 million euros.

    About Eberhard Gill
    Dr. Gill has been working as researcher at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) from 1989 to 2006 in the field of precise satellite orbit determination, autonomous navigation and spacecraft formation flying. He has been Co-Investigator and Principal Investigator on several international Earth and deep space space missions. He developed a GPS-based onboard navigation system for the BIRD micro-satellite and a GPS-based guidance, navigation and control system for the Prisma formation flying mission. Since 2007, he holds the Chair of Space Systems Engineering at the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). The chair has developed the nano-satellite Delfi-C3, launched in 2008 and successfully operated for more than 15 years, as well as the Delfi-Next nano-satellite launched in 2013 and the pico-satellite Delfi-PQ launched in 2022. From 2013 until 2021, he served a head of the Department Space Engineering at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of TU Delft. From 2015 to 2023, he has been Founding Director of the TU Delft Space Institute. He initiated the Systems Engineering Platform at TU Delft in 2023.
