I hope you as the audience can take something from this episode as much as I have, especially for anyone who has dealt with the passing of a parent or any form of substance abuse within their life. Just wanted to say thanks again to Nobel for coming on and sharing his story and in return may it help someone out there who may have faced or going through something similar.

  • The Blueprint to Life ft. Dylan | #7
    Feb 21 2022

Welcome to episode 7 of Sunset Confessions, featuring one of my best friends Dylan. I hope you as the audience really enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed filming it, and I hope my love and appreciation for this man resonates through the screen and speakers. It is not very common to see friends especially men openly discuss the topics we go through, and I hope you in return you will do the same with your friends and family.

    Some topic of discussions include:
    -  Confessing our love for each other and friends being vulnerable with each other.
    -  Mental health in ethnic families and the dichotomy between my family vs his.
    - The inability for men to share their feelings especially as we grow older.
    - Our struggles of uni and not knowing what to do career wise.
    -  Dylan shares his story of marrying his wife and what makes a successful relationship; and
    - Why do we wait till we are nearly dead to do what we really want

  • Addressing that Asian trauma ft. Janelle | #6
    Feb 7 2022

Welcome to episode 6 of Sunset Confessions, featuring one of my good friends Janelle. Being both ethnically Vietnamese and considered first generation Asian-Australians, a lot of this episode revolves around our own personal life experiences and struggles that comes with the territory.

    Some topics of discussion are;
    1. The struggles of living with Asian parents and the taboo act of moving out of home.
    2. Choosing a career which you may not like due to the pressure of Asian culture.
    3. Disappointment from setting high emotional connection standards for Asian parents due to living in western society.
    4. The asian inability to articulate and communicate our feelings, and how that can affect other areas of life.
    5. Our relationship with our estranged fathers and much more, so make sure you stick around :)

The goal of sunset confessions is to make uncomfortable conversations again, as Asians we tend to sweep our emotions and thoughts under the rug, as it is just learned behaviour from our parents, and by allowing you the audience to realise we as an Asian community often go through the same struggles of life, may this podcast help your with mental health and relationships. I want to thank Janelle again for being so vulnerable on this episode and I hope you take some value from the our stories.
