Daryl Mundane, master of deal making, becomes a multi-millionaire in the 1940's with his radio patents and sets out to develop a radio station of 50,000 watts. He provides solace to the Albright family for the loss of their husband and father in WW 2 and becomes the surrogate uncle and radio mentor of Tracy Albright and later in life, the lover of Tracy's mother Odette. Daryl finances and builds a radio station in the town of Niagara Falls and is the senior director of WNYK 1150 AM Radio. Daryl meets Storyville Madame, Countess Willie Piazza . Even though Storyville prostitution was stopped by city ordinance in 1917, Madams like the countess continued to live in their brothel mansions well into the 1920's. Daryl is invited to stay a la maison and receive treatment for his heroin and alcohol addiction. He recovers, and starts a new lease on life. Daryl becomes wealthy selling his patented radio components to large radio manufacturers in the 1930's. He meets Nick Nicolas 3rd. while on a business trip riding the 20th Century Express from New York to Chicago.

He develops an addiction to heroin and alcohol after a harrowing brush with death during the first world war and eventually recovers in New Orleans in the 1920's. Daryl is a brilliant radio and telecommunications engineer and contributes to the advancement of radio in the 1930's and eventually owns and operates an AM radio station with his partner Nick Nicolas in the 40's and 50's. He is the mentor and surrogate uncle of the brilliant Tracy Albright.

A complex somewhat shallow character on air, Nick is capable of emotional depth and personal understanding when standing alone . The story spins a feel good dramedy around The Sputnik Moment (that did nothing. yet changed everything) and the unlikely friendship which developed between Nick Nicolas 3rd. Bygone era big band singer turned radio DJ and the rookie news anchor Tracy Albright . Tracy without consulting Nick, brands her talk show, The Sputnik Satellite Radio Show - News. This irks Nick to no end, but he realizes Tracy's on air time has gone viral and she is bringing in much needed revenue through advertising. This all happens so fast Nick has no choice but to go with it. This creates a tremendous shift with positive results. Nick relinquishes his status as the Alpha front man of WNYK 1150 Radio and becomes the support person for the wildly popular talk show. Nick gets a sense of humor goes with the flow. A bond of friendship develops between Nick and Tracy. Comedy, music and surprises ensue and ends with a satisfying conclusion. Everybody wins.
