Daryl Mundane, master of deal making, becomes a multi-millionaire in the 1940's with his radio patents and sets out to develop a radio station of 50,000 watts. He provides solace to the Albright family for the loss of their husband and father in WW 2 and becomes the surrogate uncle and radio mentor of Tracy Albright and later in life, the lover of Tracy's mother Odette.
