Unser Gast heute ist Prof. Dr. Christian von Hirschhausen, Professor für Wirtschafts- und Infrastrukturpolitik an der Technischen Universität Berlin.

Christian Hirschhausen hat Volkswirtschaft in Colorado und Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen an der TU Berlin studiert und an der École nationale supérieure des mines de Paris promoviert. Er arbeitete anschließend beim Deutschen Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung und hat dann an der TU Berlin habilitiert.

Der Schwerpunkt seiner Forschung und Lehre liegt derzeit bei soziotechnischen Aspekten der Kernfusion. Zu diesem Thema soll auch in Kürze ein Lehrbuch erscheinen.

Im Interview geht es, neben vielen Tipps für die Postdoczeit, um den Stellenwert der Lehre im Bewerbungsverfahren, die Notwendigkeit der Option eines Plans B und den Vorteilen, die die Pflege nichtberuflicher Interessen bietet.

Unser Gast heute ist Frau Prof. Dr. med. Mirjam Stahl, Professorin für Lungenheilkunde an der Klinik für Pädiatrie, mit dem Schwerpunkt Pneumologie, Immunologie und Intensivmedizin an der Charité Berlin.

Frau Stahl hat in Rostock und Freiburg Medizin studiert, in Freiburg dann promoviert und in Heidelberg ihre Habilitation fertig gestellt.
Heute sind Sie Leiterin der Sektion Cystische Fibrose (Mukoviszidose) an der Charite Berlin, stellvertretende Präsidentin der Gesellschaft für pädiatrische Pneumologie (Kinderlungenheilkunde)
und ist 2022 für Ihre Mukoviszidose-Forschung mit dem Adalbert-Czerny-Preis ausgezeichnet worden.

Der Schwerpunkt ihrer Forschung liegt auf dem Gebiet der Mukoviszidose im Kinder- und Jugendalter.

Im Interview geht es, neben vielen Tipps für die Postdoczeit, um den Stellenwert von Mentor*innen für die berufliche Entwicklung und die Chancen, die sich aus der Mitarbeit in Fachgesellschaften und der Teilnehme an Fortbildungsveranstaltungen ergeben.

Unser Gast heute ist Frau Prof. Dr. Anne Enderwitz, Professorin für Englische Literatur am Institut für Anglistik und Amerikanistik der HU Berlin.

Anne Enderwitz hat englische Philologie und Philosophie an der FU Berlin studiert, war Marie Curie Fellow und Assistant Teacher am University College London, wo sie auch promoviert hat. Danach ging sie als wiss. Mitarbeiterin an die Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg und danach für eine Post Doc Stelle an die FU Berlin.

Nach einer Vertretungsprofessur für Englische Literatur (W3) an der LMU München wurde sie als Professorin für neuere englische Literatur an die Humboldt Universität zu Berlin berufen.

Ihre Forschungsinteressen reichen vom frühneuzeitlichen Theater bis zur zeitgenössischen Belletristik und von Literatur und Ökonomie bis hin zu Klimanarrativen. Als wissenschaftliche Leiterin von Circle U. erforscht sie die Rolle von Erzählungen im Allgemeinen und spekulativer Fiktion im Besonderen bei der Bewältigung der Klimakrise.

Im Interview geht es neben vielen Tipps für die Postdoczeit um Hindernisse für Frauen in der Wissenschaft, die Anforderungen an Professor*innen als Führungskräfte und den Wert und die Vereinbarkeit von Familie und Beruf in der Wissenschaft.

Our guest today is Prof. Dr. Wolfang Kübler. He is head of the Institute of Physiology at Charité in Berlin.

Prof. Kübler studied medicine at Ludwig Maximilians University Munich. His research and academic qualification brought him to Colombia University in New York and the University of Toronto in Canada. In Toronto he was founding director of the Critical Illness and Injury Research Centre at St Michaels Hospital before moved to Berlin. He is active in various national and international professional societies and research associations and has received numerous awards. Since 2016 Wolfgang Kübler is head of the Institute of Physiology at Charité.

Our guest today is Prof. Dr. Julien Weiss. He is head of the department of aerodynamics at the institute of aeronautics and astronautics at TU Berlin.

His main teaching and research activities are in the fields of flow physics and control, applied aerodynamics and aerodynamic measurement technology.

Julien Weiss studied engineering in Stuttgart and then went on to the École Nationale Supérieure de Mécanique et d'Aérotechnique, France for a M.Sc.

In addition to many tips for the postdoc period, the interview also covers the uncertainties on the way to a professorship and the need to always have a plan B.

Our guest today is Prof. Dr. Naika Foroutan. She is a Professor of Social Sciences at the Humboldt-University in Berlin where she heads the department of integration studies and social policy at the Berlin Institute on Integration and Migration (BIM). She is Head of the German Center for Integration and Migration (DeZIM) a Ministry-funded research institute that provides empirical analysis on migration and integration and monitors ‘Racist Realities’ for the German government.

Foroutans research focuses on countries of immigration, their changing identities and attitudes towards minorities as well as the impact of pluralization on norms and values.

In addition to many tips for the postdoc period, the interview also covers the advantages of paper-based dissertations, the necessity of stays abroad and the development of academic networks.

Our guest today ist Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Bäumer, European specialist in veterinary pharmacology and toxicology, a veterinarian and researcher in the field of veterinary pharmacology and toxicology. He completed his doctorate at the veterinary university in Hannover, held an endowed professorship in Hannover and was associate professor in the U.S. at North Carolina State University. Since 2017 he is professor and managing director at the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Department of Veterinary Medicine at Freie Universität Berlin.

In addition to many tips for the postdoctoral period, the interview also covers a plan B or C if the path to a professorship doesn't work out, and how to build academic networks.

Unser heutiger Gast ist Prof. Dr. Philipp Adelhelm, Professor für Physikalische Chemie an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin und Leiter der Forschungsgruppe “Operando battery analysis” des Helmholtz-Zentrums Berlin und HU Berlin.

Nach seinem Studium der Materialwissenschaften an der Universität Stuttgart promovierte in Physikalischer Chemie an der an der Universität Potsdam und dem Max-Planck-Institut für Kolloid- und Grenzflächenforschung zum Thema "Novel carbon materials with hierarchical porosity: templating strategies and advanced characterization”.

Nach Stationen über der Universität Utrecht, der Justus-Liebig-Universität in Giessen und der Friedrich-Schiller Universität in Jena, erreichte er seine heutige Position als Hochschullehrer an der HU Berlin mit dem Schwerpunkt der Batterieforschung.

Seit 2020 ist er auch Leiter der gemeinsamen Forschungsgruppe “Operando battery analysis” der HU Berlin und dem Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin.

Im Interview geht es neben vielen Tipps für die Postdoczeit auch um den Unterschied der Arbeitsweisen an einer Universität und einem außeruniversitären Forschungszentrum und der Vereinbarkeit von Familie und Beruf.
