  • Technology has played an indispensable role in the development of the production, distribution, and the sound of music since the 1980s. The late 19th and the 20th century have seen incredible advances in music technology, but the 1980s seem to be the boiling point when advances in technology influenced the births of more genres of music than ever. It was a time of great economic change, which helped greatly in funding the production and distribution of emerging technologies in electronics and computers.
