    Mar 29 2023
Hope is an essential element to life, but it can be hard to hang onto in the constantly changing situations of life. Even so, it is in our survival nature to look for “a light at the end of the tunnel”. So, what is the secret to hanging on when we’re constantly disappointed in the darkness? How can we see the stars of hope peeping through the darkness of the night sky? How can we cultivate hope that sustains us and allows us to carry that light to others? Let’s explore the ways to stir up hope. Resources: Hebrews 11:1 Psalm 25:5 Hebrews 12:11 I Peter 1:12-13 Psalm 42:11 Hebrews 6:18-19 I Corinthians 15:19 Psalm 16:5 Acts 2:9 Romans 15:13

Someone has said: “It is not love that makes a relationship complicated; it’s the people in it who do.” That’s true whether it is romantic love, love between friends, or love of fellow humanity. So, what can be done to uncomplicate it? If it’s possible for mere humans to love like Christ, what that really look like? How do we bring a spark of love wherever we are? • Remain in Peace
    Dec 20 2022
Peace is a much sought-after state of being that can be illusive, hard-won, and sometimes fleeting. We often have little control over the “outer things” that affect our peace, but can inner peace be cultivated in a way to steady our souls? Is perfect peace that divine gift of the Spirit that can make a difference on our outlook on life? And if it affects our outlook, can it also affect the outcome of our circumstances? • Remaining in Prayer
    Jul 12 2022

While scripture reveals the character and nature of God, prayer is the place where we go to form a

relationship with Him. It’s simply a conversation with the One we love. How can we develop a deep

relationship of prayer? On this episode we’ll explore some ways to approach prayer and some of the

questions and issues that affect our prayer.

    Formats for Prayers

The ACTS method of Christian prayer:

ADORATION: Give God praise and honor for who He is as Lord over all.

CONFESSION: Honestly confess and repent of the sin in your life.

THANKSGIVING: Verbalize what you’re grateful for in your life and in the world around you.

SUPPLICATION: Pray for the needs of others and yourself.

    THE LORD’S PRAYER

This prayer has been broken down many ways as a model.                  Here are three models to identify the

    various sections.

His Name, His kingdom, His will, Give us, Forgive us, Lead us, Deliver us. (Andrew Murray)

God’s glory, God’s kingdom, God’s will, Provision, Forgiveness, Guidance, Protection.

His Presence, His praise, His Purpose, His Provision, His Pardon, His Protection

    Quotes

    He knows.” Timothy Keller

“God is too good to be unkind and He is too wise to be mistaken. And when we cannot trace His

hand, we must trust His heart.” Charles Spurgeon

  • Remaining in the Word
    Jun 6 2022

The Word of God is life! We believe that every word of the Bible is true and that everything we need for life is found in it. The deepening relationship we desire to have with our Lord is found there too. So, how can Scripture become more alive to us so that we can fall more in love with the Word of God? Let’s start that conversation!

    Scripture shared in this episode:

    John 1:1

    Psalm 27:8

    Matthew 7:24-27

    Matthew 24:35

    Psalm 18:30

    Psalm 46:10

    Psalm 119:18

    Isaiah 26:3

    Proverbs 27:17

    Hebrews 4:12

    1 Corinthians 2:12

    Ephesians 6:10-20

    The Bible Memory App

A traditional memory tool for key Bible verses: http://www.navigators.org/resource/topical-memory- system

There are many verses in the book of Romans that will help point a person to salvation:

*We are all sinners ( Romans 3:10,23)

*The wages of our sin is death (Romans 6:23)

*Jesus paid our sin debt on the cross ( Romans 5:8)

*Salvation comes by faith, that is, by confessing with our mouths and believing in our hearts (Romans 10:9,10)

*Call on the Lord for salvation and get saved ( Romans 10:13)

A sample prayer to ask Jesus into your heart:

God, I have not always lived my life in a way that is pleasing to you. I have made wrong choices and followed paths that took me into sin. I acknowledge that and I repent and ask you to forgive me and I choose to follow a new path that You show me.

I am choosing You, Jesus, and asking you to come into my heart. I am grateful that your sacrifice on the cross was payment for my sin, and resurrection is the way for my eternal life. I want that abundant, eternal life. I want Your Holy Spirit to come into my life to help me overcome temptations and to guide me in how to live for You.

I trust that Your plans for me are good. Help me to trust You more, even as I come to know You better. Give me a deep hunger for Your Word and for relationship with You. I thank you that I am now a new creature with a new beginning.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
