This is a conversation of ability versus disability in terms of access, inclusion and accommodation. From a personal experience of growing up with a label of Learning Disabled (LD), then later a diagnosis of ADHD in her 40’s, she describes not feeling validated in her intelligence but still emerged a triumphant voice and PhD. She’s been a tireless voice for her Latinx Special Education students as well as, Education Law college students and beyond, through her teaching, dissertation, published articles and advocacy for disability law to empower students and their families.
