In this episode, you get to hear from Levi Weston, our oldest child, who happens to be autistic. He shares his perspective through living a life on the spectrum and the challenges he faces. He shares the crucial take-aways and some insight for supporting people like him. In the autism community we always say, "when you have met one person on the spectrum, you have met ONE person on spectrum." So often as parents we speak for our kids, this was such a neat experience to sit down with my son and hear directly from him this time. ENJOY!

You may not know this but April is *Autism Awareness Month* and more specifically April 2nd is "LIGHT IT UP BLUE". A Global movement where businesses, industries, governments and every day people choose to switch out their normal lights for BLUE lights and/or wear the color blue in support of someone with autism. I hope hearing from Levi encourages you to LIGHT IT UP BLUE and post your photo using #lightitupblue2025 on social media, in support. Take time to be encouraged and scroll through to see how others, just like you, around the world are choosing to stand along side people with autism and lets break the stigma in being neurodivergent.

In this episode, I have Darlene Fros sitting down with me. Now, there are many hats Darlene wears, in a professional sense and relational sense, but today we connected on our combined passion for the journey in healing through our bodies and specifically our nervous system. As a massage therapist, she has experienced first hand, the cost of trauma and how "the body keeps score". We discuss action vs. outcome mentality and explore the depths of addictions and how mental health awareness can't stop with knowledge. This episode is full of wisdom and insight so enjoy listening, be filled with knowledge, and then be empowered to live it out!

"Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm, and harmony." - Thomas Merton

Today we are visiting what it looks like to find our rhythm in whatever we are contending with. Life will always involve CHANGE and we can find our way through all the complexities by embracing new rhythms and finding our beat again.

    Embrace the journey!

In this episode, I share many tools I have learned along the way, in different seasons of life, through counselling. I hope you will find them as useful strategies for you to use at home to aide in your mind management. I can't say this enough but "growth is a dance, not a light switch." Its too easy to perceive our mistakes as complete failures, and that just doesn't serve you in any productive way but also it doesn't give the whole picture. How you perceive the world around you, including yourself really shapes your thoughts, your emotions and your choices. Growth doesn't always have to be so serious. Growth can offer playfulness and a gentleness, sometimes even some sassiness as you figure out your rhythm. Don't be so hard on yourself, as you navigate the good, the hard and the messy.

    I hope you are encouraged!!!

In this episode, I share a fraction of my story. With the Christmas season gearing up, it's easy to forget people who may not feel all the joyful vibes. My story didn't begin with the "No Not Today" mindset, it holds some darkness that feels important to share before the holidays. You see, winter is known for being the highlight of depression season. Christmas in particular can elevate whatever you have going on inside of you, and sometimes that is the opposite of peace. I hope this brings you some encouragement and reminds you to pause and reflect on what Christmas is truly about.

Be exhorted & go out into the world and BE LIGHT.
All my love & Merry Christmas!

NOTE: I will be taking a short break for the Holidays and we'll see you back in the new year. Excited for January 2025 friends! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

In this episode, you get to lean in and hear the heart of my good friend Darcey. She has dedicated her life to the humans that surround her, but how she lives a life in service is not romantic or convenient. Darcey allows us to see into her perspective, the heart of God and the people she feels called to help.

She simply saw a need, and decided to meet it. So simple and yet complex. I hope you feel awakened as you listen to Darcey share how she has found "joy in the unseen".

Root & Fruit is a series where I reflect, 'think out loud', share myself and leave some encouragement to cultivate a rhythm for change.

This episode is based on provoking thoughts I have been challenged about when it comes to "congruency & authenticity". Putting the time and work into assessing your mind, desires, and heart. Allowing healing to take shape and authenticity to unfold as a result. Learning to face-off with yourself and get to the root of your reactions, rather than going to war with everybody else. I hope you feel challenged and encouraged, like I have been. Enjoy!

In this episode, Amy is joining us with her story of infertility. Spoiler alert, it's also an adoption story. Amy was able to go into great detail on her and her husbands confronting infertility, their grieving and accepting of that, and how it lead to adoption. Lots and lots of waiting left them in the suspended, the place none of us want to linger, but usually where all the beauty happens. I hope you feel more informed about infertility, the adoption process and empowered as you hear someone else's journey "living in the suspended".
