• Episode 31 - The 7 Signs Pain Has An Emotional Origin
    Jan 15 2025

In today's episode of the MBM podcast we are looking at the 7 signs pain has an emotional origin or a stress-based nervous system cause.

Now not ALL pain has an emotional origin. But if your clients are dealing with persistent injuries or chronic pain there is a good chance there is an emotional origin that needs to be addressed for them to heal. We will cover the 7 signs so that you can start to pick the clients who you need to work beyond just their physical symptoms.

Right now around 20% of the adult population worldwide is dealing with some kind of musculoskeletal pain that has not improved with conventional physical treatments. That is 960 million people.

These people need holistic practitioners (like you) who have the skills and tools to address the emotional origins of pain. Learning to do so can mean that you are finally able to help those complex pain clients who have tried countless practitioners and spent thousands of dollars on treatments that have not worked.

If you are ready to master this work and become an expert in persistent injuries and chronic pain, be sure to join the waitlist for my program "Pain Mastery". This is an 8 week program for health practitioners where I teach you how to treat musculoskeletal pain caused by emotional stress and conflicts. Here you will learn the science of German New Medicine, and my new technique The Neuro Shift.

  • Episode 28 - Wrist Pain; the first client I ever helped
    Jan 6 2025

In this episode, I want to share with you a cool story.

This is a story of unexplained wrist pain and the first example of how I was able to help my client heal and become pain-free in a matter of minutes using the German New Medicine framework.

Rewind back to 2017, and I was practicing as a chiropractor. A regular client came to see me, she was a hairdresser, and she got a regular chiropractic adjustment to combat the effects of standing up all day hunched over her clients.

But this day was different, she came in wearing a wrist guard.

I asked her if she had fallen over, but she told me she just woke up one day in excruciating pain. What happened next shocked me (and her) and it set me on the path of mind-body healing.

Check out the full episode for all the details.

PS - a free gift to you. If you are a healthcare practitioner, manual therapist, or someone who has clients dealing with pain, I have created a free ebook title "The Emotional Origins Of Pain". In this guide, I outline the specific emotional origins of the most common musculoskeletal injuries, and the questions to ask your clients.

This is the exact process I used with this client. This guide complies all the German New Medicine links of musculoskeletal pain, and is somethign I have built out over the years working with clients. Many practitioners keep a copy of this in their office so they can help their "tricky" or unresponsive clients.

Head on over to www.mindbodymasters.com/guide to grab your free copy!

Perfect for chiropractors, massage therapists, manual therapists, physiotherapists, acupuncturists, exercise physiologists, and any other alternative healthcare provider who has clients struggling with chronic and persistent pain.

  • Episode #27 - Entrepreneurs addicted to stress
    Mar 14 2023

In this week's episode of the podcast, I ask the question, are you addicted to stress? When you think of addiction, chances are you think of smoking, alcohol, or hard drugs, right? But not many people think of stress as being addictive. But what we discuss in this week's episode of the podcast is that stress can be just as addictive as smoking or alcohol! Many business owners and entrepreneurs are unknowingly addicted to stress and for many, this addiction (like other addictions) is slowly destroying their health, their relationships, their mental well-being, and even their business. But the problem is that many people who are addicted to stress and stuck in this stress cycle don’t actually know they are addicted. This is such a rarely discussed topic. So in this episode, we cover the science of HOW stress is just as addictive as smoking, plus the telltale signs of stress addiction. My intention is to help you (and your loved ones) see how they too could be addicted to stress and how you can start to break the stress cycle. If you have enjoyed this episode, please give us a positive review on iTunes to help us grow, or if you have someone in your life you think is addicted to stress, please share this episode with them. Also, if you share your biggest takeaways on Instagram tagging me @jake_currie I will be sure to get back to you personally! Thanks so much for listening, see you next time!

  • Episode #26 - Why entrepreneurs are prone to burnout
    Feb 17 2023

In this episode we discuss why entrepreneurs and business owners are so prone to burnout, adrenal fatigue, and chronic pain.
Many entrepreneurs have mental programs and characteristics that make success in business a sure thing; the ability to push themselves, never being truly satisfied with achievements, always looking to do more, work harder, and be exceptional. While these characteristics are great in business they can also cause various health problems.

    Jul 6 2021

    Hey Mind Body Master,

This is a very special episode of the podcast that I am excited to share with you! In today’s episode, I interview Mark Wolynn.

Mark Wolynn is the director of the Family Constellation Institute in San Francisco and is a leading expert in the field of inherited family trauma. His book "It Didn't Start With You: How Inherited Family Trauma Shapes Who We Are and How to End the Cycle" (Viking/Penguin) is the winner of the 2016 Silver Nautilus Book Award in psychology, and has been translated into 22 languages. His articles have appeared in Psychology Today, Mind Body Green, MariaShriver.com, Elephant Journal, and Psych Central, and his poetry has been published in The New Yorker.

In this episode, Mark and I discuss how the brain changes in response to stress and trauma and how this stress response can be passed down from one generation to the next.

So if you are someone who has some unexplained symptoms that no one can seem to figure out, or you have been told your problems are 'stress related', or you have been overcome with depression, anxiety, or a phobia that 'doesn't make sense' this episode is FOR YOU!

Here are some of the topics that we discuss:

    • How stress shapes your brain and what to do to reverse the effects
    • The science of how trauma can be passed down from one generation to the next
    • The latest research in epigenetics and neuroplasticity
    • Why we have certain 'unusual' fears and stress patterns
    • Why symptoms associated with inherited family trauma show up later in life
    • Real-life examples of inherited family trauma in some of Mark's patients
    • Mark's personal story of going blind in one eye and how that lead him to discover the importance of inherited family trauma
    • How some people become people-pleasers based on their childhood stressors
    • Why some people experience the effects of inherited family trauma and why others do not
    • How talking about trauma is an important part of the healing process
    • The power of positive experiences and how that can 'rewire your brain'
    • Why you are not doomed to live with a stressed-out brain and how you can start to heal
    • And much more!

Mark's work has been pivotal in my own healing journey and since I started training with Mark, his work has become a big part of what we teach our clients and students inside the Mind Body Masters Program.

I am sure you are going to pull out a lot of gold nuggets from this interview with Mark. Now, if this episode has helped you in any way please share it with someone who you know will resonate with this message :)

  • Episode #24 - Your Symptoms Are Your Greatest Blessing
    Jun 25 2021

    Hey Mind Body Master!

In today's episode, I share with you the #1 perspective shift that is required to start healing not only PHYSICALLY but SPIRITUALLY.

You see, most people believe that the symptoms that they have are a problem. Something that needs to be fixed at all costs! And yes, symptoms are annoying but operating from this place keeps people stuck in what I call the symptom spiral.

A spiral where you obsess over fixing your symptoms, spending all kinds of time and money to FIX the problem. 99% of the population does this, and this is why so many people are still stuck and sick.

This model of reality actually creates a whole heap of additional stress in the way of trying to treat symptoms.

Have you ever heard that saying: "Life doesn't happen to you, it happens for you"? Chances are if you have done any personal development work you know this saying, starting to apply this mindset to your symptoms is key to start healing.

As a Mind Body Master you KNOW that symptoms are the result of stressful events that we have not fully processed (Stress Imprints) and these Stress Imprints affect both your MIND and your BODY.

So when you really GET this you can see that your symptoms are actually POINTING to what you need to heal or let go of! And that is a blessing. Your symptoms allow you to heal emotionally and spiritually.

This episode is going to give you the perspective that you need to heal from the inside out!
