About this listen

Hey Dreamers, I'm Dan Jones, wishing you a warm welcome to Slumberland.

I create a range of different types of bedtime stories, from surrealist fantasy to slice-of-life stories and everything inbetween, as well as occasional meditations. My bedtime stories are designed to help you fall asleep fast, sleep well & sleep all night while positively impacting on your wellbeing: reducing stress, anxiety & worry. To get the most therapeutic benefit from the stories, using them as meditations, rather than just falling asleep to them, it is best to listen to the stories at a time you are unlikely to fall asleep so that you can engage with the story.

I have been creating therapeutic bedtime stories and meditations for over 20 years. My stories have been listened to over 20 million times on YouTube and other platforms.

  • The Magical Loch Ness (Bedtime Story & Meditative Relaxation)
    Sep 13 2025

This is a Slumberland long bedtime story for grown ups. In this long cozy sleep story you wander through a meadow along the edge of Loch Ness, seeing Urquhart castle in the distance. You take a break halfway to the castle, before continuing on. Once near the castle, you encounter Nessie. They share knowledge about themselves with you. After Nessie disappears back into the Loch, you notice a storm approaching. You head into the ruins of Urquhart castle to find shelter from the storm where you settle down, relax, and drift peacefully asleep to the sound of the storm.

This sleep story contains a full body scan process and a countdown process integrated into the story.

  • Radiate Love and Kindness to Those Who Need it With This Loving Kindness Meditation
    Sep 13 2025

This is a loving kindness meditation. You can use this to radiate love and kindness out to those who need it, as well as developing your self-love.

Daily use of loving kindness meditation increases positive emotions within yourself, specifically: love, joy, contentment, gratitude, and hope, while reducing anxiety, worry and depressive symptoms. It helps to decrease chronic pain, migraines and trauma (PTSD) symptoms, while improving empathy, emotional processing and emotion regulation.

Just 10 minutes of loving kindness meditation has an immediate relaxing effect and slows biological aging.

It also has some social benefits, like increased social connection, empathy, compassion and helpfulness, as well as reduce bias towards others and reduced self-criticism.

So, it is well worth engaging at least once per day in loving kindness meditation at a time that works best for you, or perhaps fall asleep radiating loving kindness and compassion to yourself and others to have positive thoughts and feelings as you fall asleep.

  • Deep Sleep Meditation-Evoked Lucid Dreaming Process
    Sep 13 2025

This is a meditation process for evoking a lucid dreaming experience within the listener and encouraging deep sleep to follow this dreaming.

Like all lucid dreaming processes, it is best not to use this if you are currently experiencing stress, anxiety, worry, depression or any other mental health challenge, nightmares or bad dreams, as this process is to encourage you to be more aware within your dreams and so you don't want to use this if there is a chance your dreams may be negative due to these other issues.

The idea with lucid dreaming is that your aim is to become more of an active participant in the dreams, so that you can begin to make decisions within those dreams, rather than just observing or experiencing the dreams, however, this does take practice.
