• Ep 24 l Perks of a Mental Disability
    Dec 16 2025

    Send Gabriella a Text Message.

Mental disability accommodations for TBI’s include extra fast passes, private sections at events, escorts, jury duty exemption - and that’s only the literal! The theoretical? Even better!

Bit of a hot take today, but in the spirit of the holiday season, we are in celebration mode. If I’m going to celebrate every part of myself, that includes my disability.

Life has no room for regret. Regret is nothing… but a waste of energy. I love my brain, I’m not in the business of spending every day sobbing about my reduction in brain cells. Rather, I’m in the business of ethically cutting the line at Disneyland.

  • Ep 23 | Pleasure Science: Reclaiming Sex After Trauma with Nadège
    Dec 9 2025

    Send Gabriella a Text Message.

Whether it’s sexual trauma, like assault, abuse, violation, vaginismus or nonsexual trauma like a brutal accident, sex after trauma can lead to aversion, hypersexuality, and unsafe decisions. Do you need exposure therapy? Is that a bad idea? How do you feel safe in your body again?

In this episode, I hear from Nadège, CEO and creator of Pleasure Science. Nadège is a sex scholar, bestselling author, teacher, and speaker who only discovered her career path because of her own trauma.

When it comes to sex, Nadège knows everything about it. Sex after trauma is terrifying because...why wouldn’t it be? No doctors or rehabilitation therapists or most general therapists ever teach us anything about it - it's just one big question mark. Luckily, we have people like Nadège to guide us.

Really - all of life is traumatizing. This episode isn’t just for the big bad trauma survivors like myself; it also contains ample necessary information about sex that all of us need to have healthier, safer, more ~vibrant~ sex lives.

(Vibrant seemed like a mom safe adjective)

  • EP 22 l Gratitude: Align with Positivity, Manifestation, & Attraction
    Nov 25 2025

    Send Gabriella a Text Message.

A quick hack to align with positivity, manifestation, and drop into a state of attraction is to practice gratitude. There is always something to be grateful for, even if it doesn’t look like it at first glance.

Happy Thanksgiving!! We’re celebrating the week by reminding ourselves what this holiday is about. Gratitude is a lot more hype than ya’ll realize. It’s a shortcut to feeling your way back to positivity, no matter how ugly the situation. (One would argue that a stitched closed eye and blood soaked hairline is p ugly and gratitude is what got me through that!)

Being told to ‘be positive' can feel like it’s a little unhelpful. Like, sure, I know that’s what I ‘should’ be, but, bitch how? Well, well, well….that’s where gratitude comes in.

In this episode, I teach you how to practice gratitude, while still authentically honoring whatever turbulent circle of Hell you’re at.

    Xoxo and Happy Thanksgiving, Loves!

  • EP 21 l Healthy Positive Mindset: CPTSD, Grief, & Processing
    Nov 18 2025

    Send Gabriella a Text Message.

Divulging into my battle with CPTSD and healing my trauma with the help of neuropsychology. A healthy positive mindset that comes allowing yourself to grieve and celebrating the good, but acknowledging the bad.

Refusing to allow yourself grief and denying your loss creates a feux mask of toxic positivity. Instead of moving on, you are pushing down your emotions - which is a big no no because the only way to allow our emotions to move through us is to feel them fully. The end result of pushing down trauma? Being triggered at the most unideal times (granted, there is no ‘ideal’ time to be triggered) and living in endless suffering of concealed anger and sadness, supplemented by the oh so fun occasional violent panic attack flare up.

Being truly positive doesn’t mean saying that absolutely everything is so great all the time and better than it once was. A healthy positive mindset comes from allowing yourself to feel your emotions and admit that they aren’t always very cash money.

Give yourself permission to say “Bro, I’m straight up not having a good time.”

  • Ep 20 | Kathryn Prescott: Traumatic Accident, PTSD & Recovery
    Nov 11 2025

    Send Gabriella a Text Message.

Fellow automobile-pedestrian accident survivor, actor Kathryn Prescott, shares the story of her own recovery from being hit by a truck. Together, we chat about our common similarities in PTSD and CPTSD, invisible disability, years of surgeries, the complexity of a patient-caregiver relationship, and life after long-term rehabilitation.

Kathryn (Kat) Prescott, a UK actress known for the titular role of Carter in Finding Carter and - a guilty pleasure of mine - Emily in Skins (UK.) (and she’s from generation 2 - my personal favorite generation!!).

In this episode, we deep dive into Kat’s traumatic accident, (spoiler alert: a cement truck ran over her legs, resulting in 13 surgeries for her legs, pelvis, and vascular system), family dynamics, the bitch that is long-term health recovery, dnd how humans, both friends and acquaintances, react to another’s trauma.

This episode is supersonically powerful. Everyone absolutely needs to listen to this to better understand health trauma, perhaps receive comfort and validation, and to learn how to be there for a trauma survivor.

Victims of automobile violence, this one’s for you…and binge Skins UK.

  • Ep 19 | Intuition vs Inner Critic: How To Differentiate Them?
    Nov 4 2025

    Send Gabriella a Text Message.

Trust your intuition, ignore your inner critic - but how? My ICF certified life coach, a fan favorite repeat guest, Dominique Gold helps me break down how to choose yourself, choose love, and ignore anxiety-inducing attack thoughts.

We all need to get better about trusting our intuition, sis is never wrong, but it’s hella hard to trust her when we’ve been conditioned our whole lives by society to not trust our intuition. Instead, we’ve learned to foster attack thoughts which are a terrible, shitty, anxious, panicky substitute.

Trusting our intuition feels right & grounded, even if it includes (which it usually does) making a pretty bold decision because it is choosing yourself and love. Our attack thoughts feel like fear because…that’s what they are!! Listening to them can feel like entertaining the whims of others - it definitely doesn’t feel like choosing yourself.

But how do we learn to trust our intuition?! It’s a gut feeling, we have no proof! In fact, we usually have ‘the proof’ to do the opposite of what our intuition tells us to do. Well, bitch, that’s what I’ve been trying to learn and get better at for the past year or so and Dom is who has been helping me do it. We’ve gotten a good enough grasp on this complex/higher-thinking/philosophical subject. We teach what we can, and, hopefully, if all listeners get a good enough grasp, we can all come together in one full grasp ;)

  • Ep 18 | Invisible Disability: Life After Brain Injury
    Oct 28 2025

    Send Gabriella a Text Message.

This episode is dedicated to brain injury survivors and caregivers of. Today I sit down with my physiatrist, Dr. Seth Herman. Dr. Herman has been with me from week one of the coma until now and for the forseeable future. My recovery has been entirely guided by Dr. Herman and I and my brain would not be where we are today if it wasn’t for him.

As the Medical Director of Traumatic Brain Injury at California Rehabilitation - where yours truly was posted up for a bit - every day he sees patients at all stages of brain injury recovery from the moment their surgery is over and stands by their side as they reassimilate into life. He is still making tweaks to my medication and I started working with a new neuropsychologist a few months ago at his recommendation.

No one knows the struggle of brain injury rehabilitation better and an invisible disability than someone who sees it present in all different cases every day. Tune into this episode and catch a true glimpse at the reality of having and living with a brain injury.

  • 17 l The Healing is Patience Episode
    Oct 23 2025

    Send Gabriella a Text Message.

Me? Patient? Babe, I want things done yesterday. I ride on impulsivity. Based on my birth chart - it's a birth right...but one that needs some mastering. Healing has required me to be patient or try to learn to be patient, but I almost want it to be done? I'm like 'Ok, I've been patient long enough, let's get going!!!' Unfortunately - that's not how healing works.

Healing is not linear. Just because some things are good now, doesn't mean they'll be good forever..or maybe they will be, but then some other shit's gonna come up. While healing does go up over time, life will keep lifeing.

Personally, with a TBI, every day is a surprise of new side effects. Yes, even all these years later. Because, say it with me, brain *clap* injury *clap* recovery *clap* is *clap* life *clap* long *clap.*

Oh - and do you think PTSD goes away quickly? No, no, no - it just often changes the way it presents, leading you to think you've handled it all, but you haven't entirely.

With the debut of this podcast, the completion of my surgeries, and lots of other life changes, I am finally in a place of being able to address a lot of what I've been forced to push down in order to survive and keep myself moving. And most of it -well, actually all of it, if we're being honest - I didn't even realize I was pushing down.

That's why we have experts like neuropsychologists, psychologists, therapists, and life coaches who all us out!!!

Both mentally & physically, flare ups of conditions can occur. New hurdles will appear. Sometimes, when you're confident you've figured something out, you realize there's a whole other piece you gots to handle - or what you thought you had handled says 'bitch, I'm back.'

Patience is the softest form of love. If you love yourself, you owe it to be patient with yourself. If you love others, you owe it to them to be patient with them.

We all need more patience. We are all deserving of patience.
