  • A frontline nurse in the ED on value, and caring for our communities
    Aug 14 2023

Rachel is a frontline nurse working in the ED. She thrives on the unpredictable adventures the ED has to offer, and comradery of her team. They work together to keep each other resilient and meet the needs of every patient who walks through their doors. Sometimes the organizations we work for could do a better job of recognizing the value of these nurses, or communicating it in a way that both the nurses and the community understand. In spite of this, she will keep coming back and doing it all over again, for the patients, and for the team.

  • A Nurse at the Borderland in the ICU
    Jul 23 2023

In this episode, I talk with Rachel who is a long time Critical Care Nurse and friend. Together we have a free and honest conversation about being a nurse in a post-Covid world, why we stay or don't stay at the bedside or in healthcare, and the grief that we all have when we live and work at the Borderland of life and death in the ICU. Perhaps only we, can heal each other best.

  • This can't just be about money...or is it?
    Jul 4 2023
Are we asking ourselves the right questions, both as nurses and healthcare organizations, to truly discover why nurses across the country are so frustrated that they are resorting to labor unions and strikes to solve their differences? Do they really just want more money, or is there more to it than that? Is it really because they feel so little control over their work environments and professional development? Why do they feel so undervalued for the work that they do? Is there a solution? Let's get this conversation started and hopefully start our journey to the heart of the matter.
