Evolution of Marathons (and a running pep talk!)

  • Summary

  • (Add this episode to your Marathon/Running Playlist for when you feel like you want to give up)

This podcast has been in complete hibernation as I have been opening myself up to traveling the world, prioritizing new aspects of myself and finding peace when it comes to work/life balance (since this was my side hustle).

A few weeks ago, a good friend of mine who happens to be running the Boston Marathon today said, "Before you know it you'll be settled down with a family and your focus and time prioritization will change. Now is the time to make things happen and to give the brand/business a fair shot."

At first, I was stubborn and didn't want this to be true – I wanted to validate the hibernation from my business because showing up created fear. My perfectionism was holding me back from starting. It said, "You have to show up at your best before you take the step," but if I've learned anything, it's that you'll never be ready, but you evolve into someone who is. You have control over the process and execution. You set your own standard.

So as my good friend sets off on his 26.2 mile journey right now, I take one step forward in mine. It looks different from where I once was, but it's where I want to be. This podcast is going to be more of the soul messages that are on my heart that one person, five or fifty may need to hear. Hope this episode can motivate you to take your first step while committing to the longer journey ahead. I believe in you! Good luck today P!
