Bryce Laurent doesn’t want his ex-girlfriend to move on. Terrified by Bryce’s dark side, she seeks police protection. But Bryce will not be stopped, determined to destroy everything and everyone she has ever known and loved – and then her too . . .

Although the Roy Grace novels can be listened to in any order, Want You Dead is the tenth thrilling title in the bestselling series. Enjoy more of the Brighton detective’s investigations with You Are Dead and Love You Dead.

I tend to agree with the other reviewer that the story was hard to believe in that there were too many instances where the answers were obvious. No sympathy for the Red character either. Given so many warnings to move away until the murderer was caught and she kept refusing and continually got hurt. She was also very gullible.

Not bad

The narration was good, but plot predictable. Ive read some of the authors previous books which had more thrills...

Partly exciting and dull

I love the series so far and the overall story in this book, but it went on to much with the bad guy's obsession with Red. Hoping that the next book in the series is back on track.

I found listening to the book entertaining and the performance of the reader was great. But there were some elements of the story I found very hard to believe and this undermined my overall enjoyment of it. Mainly, why would people not immediately make the connection between Red's recent romantic past and what happened to her new boyfriend, including trained police, a psychologist, her family, etc.? It seems highly unlikely. Secondly, I found Red not a very sympathetic character. Although I guess it can be explained by shock, her reaction to what happened to Carl seemed very selfish, as exemplified by her tantrum about not wanting to eat lamb when she visits her parents - I mean, in the scheme of things, it doesn't seem very important? But as I say, the book is OK - just not great.

Good storytelling but hard-to-believe elements

I quite enjoyed this book although it seemed a bit dragged out and a bit like an earlier Roy Grace which featured a narcissist serial killer.
Have enjoyed other books in this series more.

Repeat of an earlier book?
