Doesn't disappoint
My children (6 & 9) and I have listened to all the How to Train your Dragon series which we loved and were bereft when we finished the last book. Looking for our next adventure that was age appropriate for them but still enjoyable for me, we were delighted to find Cressida Cowell had started a new series. I was worried it wouldn't have the same magic as the Dragon series but while the characters at first weren't as loveable, we still thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to continue the story with the next book. David Tennant does a brilliant performance as always. Highly recommended.

Great fun!
I enjoyed this book - comparisons are always odious but I couldn't help but compare to the dragon books - but I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the dragon series. That said, I will certainly be looking out for the sequels and I am sure I will enjoy the development of the plot. Witches are most certainly not extinct......Superbly narrated by David Tennant who uses his bottomless repertoire of different voices to bring the story to life.

Phenomenal!!!
5 stars. THOROUGHLY enjoyed this book. It was so funny, and quite mysterious because there is a character in the story that is the narrator, but we have no idea who it is (I have a theory). There was a twist in the plot that was predictable, but it was a good twist nonetheless. This is also illustrated and the drawings are brilliant! The best bit about this book, is that it's available on Audible and is narrated by David Tennant. He is just fantastic to listen to, and he has different voices for each character in the book, and I found myself laughing more than if I'd read it myself. It was really enjoyable to listen to the audiobook and read along with the physical copy. I'm definitely going to be continuing with this series!
