About this listen

Second Edition

Erik West is an ex-combat medic. He and his best friend, marine recon sniper Jimmy "Rugrat" Rodriguez, have been thrown into another world. They've become one of the "cursed". Now they have to figure out this fantasy world, where cultivation, skills, and abilities must be grown...or death awaits.

Ascension is just around the corner, whatever that means. But they'll need to master magic and temper their bodies to survive. In a world where your personal strength is your greatest value, Erik and Rugrat have to start from the bottom. But they've cut their teeth in conflicts all across Earth and honed their skills over years of training while creating a bond and upholding their honors and oaths.

It's not a question of if they are ready for the 10 realms, but instead are the 10 realms ready for them?

a gritty, unique storyline, with a lovable duo as main characters and not weighed down Too much by stats . (obviously there's some chunks in establishing context but not too much) looking forward to listening to more in the series. also it's not a bad length. I find alot of titles in this genre are short stories over large series makeing the cost eventually quote high. this is not the case here. value for money.

10/10 recommend.

Pretty much enuf said in review title. It's not Sanderson level, but certainly enjoyable with good narration.

Easy listening and wanted to get to the next book.

stat system didn't make sense to me and that combined with the narration which is choppy and is what finally tipped me over the edge to stop caring about finishing

annoying stat system

I quite like the story, and I found interesting the mixture of magic and the characters military background.
But there is something about it that I do not enjoy. I think it’s either the narrator or the writer’s style, maybe a bit of both. The whole book I was bothered by it, but cannot quite define what is the problem.
I’m new to LitRPG, but have only gone through two series before that I absolutely loved, so I know the genre is not my issue.
So despite I do like the story, I’ll not be looking at reading any others from this series.

I liked the story
