Publisher's Summary

Not one to let being banged up in Sick Bay stop her, Max has had a brilliant idea. But she needs Markham to execute it on her behalf. The subject of this cunning plan is Peterson, struggling with another bereavement and not doing very well. What’s needed to get him through it is sympathy, sensitivity, tact and understanding.

Step forward Mr Markham, for whom sympathy, sensitivity, etc., are things that happen to other people. Combine a fanatic from R&D, a head of Security with his own problems, a steam-pump, two historians who can’t even be in the same room as each other, some fractious Protestants and a large body of very dirty water. Told in Markham’s own words, this is the story of an intervention - St Mary’s style.

Jodi Taylor is a treasure.

If you have not read a St. Mary's story. I envy you. Not a bad one in the bunch. Fun characters, great dialogue, the Audible narrstions are superb. These are my kind of folks - weird, screwy, playful, dedicated and more real than most who are breathing

For Fans of St Mary's - old and new!!@

Honestly who doesn't love all the wonderful misfits of St Mary's? And in these short stories we get to focus on one of the endearing crew. Thank you for making Mr Markham the star of this ditty.
Now... when are we going to see these people on screen and where do I submit my application even though I can't quite decide between History Dept and R&D.

Cute little adventure.

Haven’t listened to a St Mary’s adventure for a long time. Good for some smiles and I realized how far behind I am. On to the next threat to history

With no background, story is meaningless

Although the story may have been relevant to those who had read the previous parts, but for me, it was irrelevant.

Love this series!!!!

I made the mistake of listening to this story out of order, but it just sucks me in even further. Of course I'll listen again and love it even more when I know more of what is going on!!! The historic tidbits are exactly what I love about this series!

Love Marcum!!

Such a lovely surprise to have another story from Marcum’s point of view. It leaves you wondering. I can’t wait to learn more about this most interesting character!

More Rom Com than Sci Fi

I was disappointed with the story. It was boring and I struggled to make it to the end. The main character spends too much time talking about her childhood and trying to get the other two characters together on a date. There was nothing compelling here for sci fi fans.

Disappointing

I normally enjoy the Chronicles of St. Mary’s short stories, but found this one very disappointing. The story was mediocre and disjointed. At times, it felt like Jodi Taylor decided to randomly pad the story with filler material because it was not long enough. The author’s introduction suggests that this was written in a hurry to meet the publisher’s unexpected demand for a new Chronicles of St. Mary’s short story and that may explain why it is such a disappointment. Hopefully, it is a one-off misfire.

Another excellent St Mary's book

I love the St Mary's Chronicles. The books were in my Wish List for ages, but once I'd bought that first book, I couldn't get enough. Humour, horror, Sci fi, and mystery all in one series, and with one of best narrators I've heard. Characters you come to know and love (and few you'll hate!). Definitely worth a listen, but beware, the series is very addictive!

Another adventure all fans will enjoy.

An absolute must for St Mary fans! And THANK YOU Audible, for having Zara Ramm narrate this short story.
A delight to listen to as always.
It follows from An Argument of Historians and

***SPOILER ALERT***

we find out that Max is recovering from the cliffhanger ending to the last novel and that Peterson will recover too.
