Publisher's Summary

Which would you sooner betray, your country or your child?

Fifteen years after retiring as a Navy SEAL, Mason Walker has gone into reclusion, focusing on the mission his dying wife gave him — to raise his daughter to become the best woman she can be. Though burdened by his past, Mason has found contentment in the anonymity of his family life in Baltimore, Maryland.

And then his daughter gets kidnapped.

Upon returning home for lunch one day, Mason comes home to find his house destroyed, his daughter gone, and security footage of her in an anonymous bunker. A voice advises that she will only be safe if Mason does exactly as he’s told.

Will Mason be able to reclaim his old skills to save his daughter? Can he use his ingenuity to save her before he’s too late?

What will it cost him?

Can't recommend, sorry

Am almost done with this book but only because I never "not" finish a book. That said, this story is only OK. The narrator is not good. He speaks in a monotone with very little inflection. At times he changes the voice of the main character so that it is confusing as to whom is speaking. And the female voices..............let's just say that they should be left to females. In addition, there are multiple "skips" as I am listening which is annoying. And finally, at the beginning the book skipped all the way back to the prologue, forcing me to listen to it twice. For the first time I regret getting an Audible book.........

Good!

Love the content of the book. There were quite a few mistakes with the audio. I will be listening to the second one when it comes out.
