Communication should be clear and concise, and we should get to the point quickly. The problem is we don’t always know how to do this. What does it mean to be concise? How can a complex topic be summarized in just a few lines? This award-winning book is a step-by-step guide for clear, concise communication in everyday work conversations. Being concise is not about trying to condense all the information into 60 seconds. It is about having clear intent, talking about one topic at a time, and focusing on solutions instead of dwelling on problems.

Up to 40% of people consider themselves shy. You might say you're introverted or awkward, or that you're fine around friends but just can't speak up in a meeting or at a party. Maybe you're usually confident but have recently moved or started a new job, only to feel isolated and unsure. If you get nervous in social situations - meeting your partner's friends, public speaking, standing awkwardly in the elevator with your boss - you've probably been told, "Just be yourself!" But that's easier said than done - especially if you're prone to social anxiety.

Good overview of communication
Generally very helpful and some good, easy action tips. Perhaps not so much the ‘science’ but actually more delving into why conversation and communication is important and actionable ways to resolve it.
Some ideas a tiny bit dated (if nit picking - I.e the good/bad/good sandwich), and not many ‘innovative’ ideas (it’s no Netflix rules of no rules) but good solid advice that work well for individuals in many different scenarios.
Thank you!!

Quite basic
Basic information. Would be useful if you were really struggling on how to interact socially. not so much if you can hd basic conversations, most of the book is just common sense such as look into other persons eyes when they are speaking.
