I am a big fan of Ian's historic work but this is the first time I've read his historic fiction and I LOVED it, one of the best books I've ever read. This book was incredible and touching. I feel inspired!!

I confess I heard the first 3 chapters many times before the story hooked me. The Narration was excellent but in the first 3 chapters I found it very soporific and had to keep going back to parts where I'd fallen asleep. However, perseverance paid off and it soon became compulsive listening, to the point where I couldn't wait to get back to John and William's story. I was not disappointed in the conclusion, which I won't spoil here. An engaging and entertaining novel.
