About this listen

As the world spirals even further down into the abyss of apocalypse, one man struggles to keep those around him safe. Michael stands side by side with his wife, their children, his friends, and the wonder Bulldog, along with the Wal-Mart greeter Tommy, who is infinitely more than he appears. Whether Tommy is leading Mike and his family and friends to salvation or death remains to be seen.

My friend recommended this book series for ages and I kept saying, NO! But as friends do he kept at it and I am grateful he did. Truly enjoying this series. I mean honestly to the deepest part of my being that I know I am truly enjoying the emotional journey that this series is allowing me to experience. My highest gratitude to the writer, voice actor, publisher and all that helped to bring this interesting creation into existence. A tip of the hat to yall

What stood out is the emotional journey. Amazing.

This is the third book of the series. The story is okay although there are lots of deus ex machina moments. However, the author does provide sotry backfill so it does not look like lazy writing.

The Talbot family has escaped again from Eliza and her horde of zombies. I'm not going to say more except this book introduces humans working with zombies to attack the human holdouts. You can have the best defences against zombies but it doesn't work when humans and zombies work together to destroy the humans.

There is a lot I could say about the plot but that would spoil it for other readers so I'll just say this. The two main warriors - Michael and B.T. are mostly incapacitated for most of this book. So, we get to see what goes on in Michael's head while he is recovering. As he would say, it's not a pretty picture.

The writing and series is okay. The audiobook performance is above average so definitely worth a listen if you like the zombie genre with a few more supernatural twists.

I'm invested in the characters now so will continue onto book 4.
