"The dirty little secret about most organizing advice is that it's written by organized people," says blogger, speaker, and decluttering expert Dana K. White. "But that's not how my brain works. I'm lost on page three." Dana blogs at A Slob Comes Clean, chronicling her successes and failures with her self-described "deslobification process". In the beginning she used the name Nony (short for aNONYmous), because she was sharing her deep, dark slob secret. Gretchen Rubin explores one of her key secrets to happiness: that for most of us, outer order leads to inner calm. A messy desk or a cluttered cupboard might seem like a trivial matter, yet Rubin has found that by simply organising our stuff, we free up space for what we truly value (in our lives and in our homes). Do I need it? Do I love it? Do I use it? This new volume, with over 150 concrete ideas, approaches the problem of how to best organise our possessions with Gretchen Rubin's characteristic clarity and humour.

Story
We are drowning in paper. We keep stacks of it on the kitchen counter, stash it in drawers, and stuff file cabinets full of documents (just one file cabinet can hold 18,000 sheets of paper - yikes). Despite this clear crisis of paper, there hasn't been a book devoted to managing and organising this single most abundant item in our homes - until now. In The Paper Solution, Lisa Woodruff delivers a proven, step-by-step guide to decluttering the paper in our lives and sorting what's left behind into easily accessible, structured and, most importantly, manageable files.
Publisher's Summary
Fans of The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo and The Four Tendencies by Gretchen Rubin will love The Clutter Connection by organization expert Cassandra Aarssen.
An organization book for diverse habits
"You're not messy, you just organize differently." The Clutter Connection examines and explains the correlation between brain types and how they directly relate to organization and clutter. Cassandra Aarssen smashes the stereotype that some people are "naturally messy" and offers listeners insight and real-life solutions based on their unique personal organizing style. The Clutter Connection will help you get organized, be more productive, and finally understand the why behind your clutter.
Individualized real-life organizing
Organizing isn't one size fits all. Let go of the preconceived and conventional notions of what organization looks like and finally discover what Clutterbug you are. With self-awareness comes happiness, personal growth, and lasting change.
The Clutter Connection examines the four different organizing styles and how they relate to each other; how motivation and happiness can be directly affected by our space; the "3P's" - productivity, procrastination, and perfectionism - and how they are connected to your unique organizing style; and how you can finally become clutter-free simply by knowing yourself better.

Interesting with slightly annoying narration
The narrator definitely gives feeling to her speech, but it’s a little OTT and sometimes the emphasis changes what I think was the original tone. The different clutter types are very interesting to hear about and it definitely makes sense to me - I plan to implement some of the suggestions for my ‘type’. But yeah, the narration is very “American” and annoying, at times. I still finished it though.

Life Changing Aproach - Way different than others
Learning the way people organize is the first thing that ever has had any lasting impact on our home. My husband is a cricket and I am a butterfly (with bee project mess tendencies). We have been living in a cluttered home for 17 years. We just couldn't figure out what was going to work. I have read countless books searching for the answer but noting ever worked until I stumbled upon o YouTube video of the bug styles which lead me here. We finally have momentum and I know in time, which this new knowledge, we will get the whole house under control. Thanks so much!

Eye Opening!
I have read a lot of organization books and thia is the fireat one that truly understands my cleaning habit. I am a butterfly and just knowing that there are nore people like me out there is so comforting! She really goes into detail for all 4 of the different organizational types of people. I listened to the whole book, even though mine was the very first one. The reason I did this is because sometimes you have to share a space with someone either at work or at hone. I know I have lived with a Cricket and we could not come together on our styles and This book might have saved our relationship. Now that O have the tools that will help me I am going to do before and after pics. Thank you so much for writing this amazing book. I recommend this book to anyone, and I do mean anyone! This is a great book for men and women alike!

I think this is definitely true.
Solves a lot of problems in relationships! Solves problems personally/individually. I learned about organization for ADHD people because of a family member. What is said in this book is what I have seen works for that family member. Therefore, I already reached a similar conclusion as the author and believe she is on the right track. I see another family member in the pages of this book and look forward to having everyone at least take the quiz. I think my husband is probably similar to me, and that's probably why we don't annoy each other any more than we annoy ourselves. I've already been showing this book to others. And it's fun to have a title/nickname for myself. I am a combination of two bugs, but primarily a cricket. I have lived with all types, I'm afraid, and have learned to tolerate all of them through life experience. But this is refreshing and gives me hope that maybe there can be more happiness and peace on the part of everyone, if they are interested in applying the ideas and recommendations in this book.

Very helpful concept with some FlyLady overlap
Excellent breakdown, very helpful. Ideas from FlyLady too, but it all worked well for me. I have already used the digital materials and checked out the Clutterbug website, YouTube channel, and Facebook page. Having started decluttering/organizing in earnest last month but my new system already not working, finding my Clutterbug organizational style was like a lightbulb moment. I have already re-done some of the easier areas in my closet and it feels so much more relaxed now. The narrator had good inflection and pace, though her voice as a whole was a touch too "syrupy" for me - I could tell it was simply her normal voice, though, and for the most part it didn't bother me after that. I am considering purchasing the print copy of this book as well. It's that helpful. If you've ever been a FlyBaby in the FlyLady system (as I have been for 11+ years), you'll recognize certain things immediately from that system. However, it all works well together and as they BOTH say, "Progress, not perfection." Highly recommended.

Super Insightful
I have read several books on the topic of decluttering and home organization. this is the first book to delve into the psychology of personal preferences and personality. I have long known that I do not view clutter the same way as my family members or roommates. now I finally understand why. I'm a butterfly. when it comes to decluttering & Home organization my favorite book remains that by Mari kondo. This book it takes the number 2 spot.

Cleaning is easier now!
This is by far my favorite book from this author. She has helped me so much. My family and I live in a tiny two bedroom apartment and I have found it very hard to keep clean and clutter free. This book has helped a ton to understand why its so hard to keep clean. I am a butterfly and I totally have all my clothes on every surface in my bedroom and nothing in my drawers. Totaly hit the nail on the head! I now have gotten rid of my dresser and use a cube shelf to put all our clothes in. I can see what I have and now I actually put them away! Thank you Cas!
