A Runner’s High (2021) is an autobiography that tells the story of 58-year-old ultramarathon runner Dean Karnazes and his return to the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run in 2018, after a 10-year break. Karnazes looks back on his adventures and reflects on his life as a runner. He describes his experience participating in the Bishop High Sierra 100K and then the big one itself - the Western States, going into great detail about the highs, lows, and ultimately the magic of running, especially at his age compared to his younger days.
