Settle down, bake stuff, and enjoy life. The gods, however, ruined that dream.

Given [Baker] and a rare black skill, he is now running for his life, trying to grow strong enough to return home. Now, Max must find a way to grow strong enough to survive the people and the god hunting him. Unprepared for an adventurer's life, Max will have to learn things the hard way as he hides his secret lest his fellow adventurers turn on him.

I loved the unique way this is delivered, I love this genre of book and find it inspiring in looking at life like you level up when you work on things

Unique in the litRPG style

I’m enjoying the story and loving the fact that I can listen to this around my kids without the constant bad language cringe of other stories. After learning the author created this first for his 14 year old daughter to enjoy, I am more forgiving to some of the simplistic tones and style. My only issue is with the narrator. He does a good job but he has this weird shouting affect that is so jarring sometimes it pulls me right out of the story and I’m staring at my phone astonished and asking Why Are You Shouting?! And I listen and read on kindle so I look at the writing and there’s no exclamation marks to justify all the drama lol anyway… overall he is alright, his accents for a few characters make me giggle at how off they are but I’ve heard worse. It’s worth the read.

Why are you shouting😩

the series has a lot of dungeon progression. the story is more about the progression through dungeons. would like more story line but I can see why it is the way it is

dungeon after dungeon

As interesting as listening to someone talk about their last dnd session. The story feels disjointed as there was no world building. Thing just happens to protag like he's on roller-coaster, no real peesonal drive to push story forward.

Not my cup of tea

story is fine for me though it is the narrator that puts me off he has the worst girl voice I've ever heard in an audio book he should stick to voicing males and not females

till he keeped making obvious lies about what he can do and the other party just goes along with it that and some other moments were everyone's iq has to drop down to 80 for him to get away with things ruined it for me.

was going good
