it's a complete 180 from all the previous titles in the serious it's rather annoying and difficult to get used to the new voice actor and there definitely not as much fighting within this story
there is a massive but to all this though it's almost like this book has been set up as a continuation to the series but also is being made to be a fresh start to the series you could technically start this series from this book and it might be a bit awkward to do you can do it

Besides that... This was a painful slog to get through... I dont mind a slice of life.. but this.... I was skipping chapters more often than not... Didn't think it was possible to make becoming a god this boring... The characters have the same conversations over and over... Either a needless heart to heart they've likely already had or a group convo around a table... 80% of this book just felt like pointless rabble...

It’s rare that a series can get away with changing the voice actor, especially after a longstanding series like this. This is not one of those rare occasions. Having journeyed with these characters for 10 books, you just can’t change their voices without it taking you out of the adventure.
On top of this, it might as well have been written by a different author. The story arc has pivoted so dramatically that it has lost its spark.
Our MC achieves his impressive feats over 2 years across the first 10 books, with him and his friends working towards a concrete, shared goal. Their banter and relationships were able to stave off the slower parts of the story, and were a large part of the draw of the narrative.
Meanwhile, having now achieved that goal and having focused purely on their ability to get strong enough to do it, we’re expected to believe that each of these characters has the expertise and ability to seed a population as gods and direct their destiny, all in the name of gaining points in order to gain more points in order to gain MORE points. I tried really hard to get on board here, but the banter between characters is gone, the urgency of progression has been stretched to centuries, and I just can’t get over how different the voices have become.
