    "Rich, sad, hopeful fairy tale"

One of the most moving tales I have ever known of. George Macdonald gives a tremendous sense of melancholy and redemption through this book.

    Story
"Wasnt as easy to get through but inspiring "

wasn't as easy to get through as I hoped but it was definitely inspiring. I read it because CS Lewis sided this book as one of his Inspirations. I thought it would be a super exciting read but it was more of an exciting story told in kind of dragging way. at the end I felt very fond of the book. it could have been the reader's fault that it kind of dragged. I'm not sure but still happy I read it.

    Story
    "Unparalleled Fairy Tale"

MacDonald's pace and poetic prose (and also his frequent unbridled poetry itself) is astounding. His subject is timeless, but his telling of it incredible. The insights into the nature of the soul, the nature of the cosmos, are profound.

The recording is slightly below the standards I'm used to, but it didn't detract much from the experience.

    "Beautiful"

I finished it and promptly started over. so beautiful. the narrator's voice is just right. it's like a slow, sleepy tour of faery and it WILL make you cry. let George take you to Tir Na Nog.

    "Terrible narrator "

The story was intriguing but the narrator was unbearable to listen to. Couldn't get past second the chapter. I was really excited to get through this book too.

    "Great story"

This was a great story! It took many interesting twists and turns. I became interested because C. S. Lewis so often referenced George McDonald. I will defiantly be reading/hearing more of his work.
