Publisher's Summary

Imperium Secundus lies revealed as a heretical folly. Terra has not fallen, though it remains inaccessible. Sanguinius, Guilliman and the Lion El’Johnson, the primarchs of the Triumvirate, must reach Terra at all costs. They seek to defend the Emperor and to atone for their sins.

But the Ruinstorm, a galaxy-wide maelstrom of chaos, hides the Throneworld from the primarchs. Now the fleets of three Legions depart Macragge, and the primarchs will stop at nothing to overcome the Ruinstorm. Yet an insidious enemy watches their every move, and plots against the weaknesses of the errant sons of the Emperor. Each has his own inner storm, and each marches towards his own ruin.

The worst Horus Heresy Novel

This novel is a contraindication as it feels bloated as it repeats itself over and over and yet is one of the shortest in the HH series. If the author was struggling with the length maybe he should have written a second draft or at least written a B storyline

A forgettable Odyssey

A somewhat stumbling journey of three Primarchs banging into daemonic obstacles over and over till a final battle. A couple of good moments, and some decent fluff reveals for Blood Angels fans, but the story was pretty dull IMO. A story with three Primarchs and it was lacking character and excitement. If you enjoy the random "Its the warp, this is crazy but go with it" over and over that the HH series seems to love lately, you might enjoy it more than me.

Bolter porn

Absolute tosh. Bolter porn through and through. Nothing to incite interest. Attempted to get through and failed. Stay well away.

Sanguinius is a chad

Almost anything with Sanguinius in it is 10/10. I’m also a huge fan of when primarchs are constantly interacting with each other it’s the highlight of the Horus heresy and this book has plenty of both in it.

Decent

Not all Horus Heresy books were created equal. This one is on the better side. I preferred it to the last few Triumvirate/Empire Secundus books, and the Epilogue was great.

A very enjoyable book to hear

It was my first book with such a duration and I really enjoyed it. I heard it with breaks but always it took me seconds to get back to the climate of horus heresy and on what this book was all about

Honestly found it quite boring and not gripping.

Struggled with this book. I love the Horus Heresy Series but this one is my least favourite, feeling like its just pushing action down your throat for no reason other than action. I think it's the pacing I have issue with.

Sentence after sentence of hyperbole.

Whilst the overall story of the book was good and tied some loose ends up, the execution was very poor. Every line was over the top, so when it got to some climaxes I was underwhelmed. the author forgets that less is more, and that the characters make the books compelling. the narrator was fantastic yet again. Final plot view without spoilers: the end with Kurze didn't make sense from a military standpoint even with the emphasis on fate.

Awful Story

This is a typical Annandale story, the characters HAVE no character and the story is incredibly boring, I have this as a book and was so fed up reading it I got the audio book and it STILL bores me to tears 😂

One of the best in the HH series

I enjoyed this one thoroughly, in my opinion it's one of the best books in the series so far. The plot is advanced and even though most of what happens is known to any that are familiar with HH lore, it's written well and is exciting.

An overblown mess

This novel should have been a novella at best. The author seemed to have an ending but had no solid story to get there. The language is a hyperbolic mess and it is full of set pieces that are so ridiculous in their scale that they lose any meaning as they vie to trump each other again and again. I’m glad I can return the book and get my credit back because this novel is a chore that adds nothing of real worth to the series. The voice actor does his best but I’d never listen to this bloated mess ever again.

Good but quite overflowing with hyperbole

A lot of good and a lot of dull hyperbole. You definitely have to be on the right mood in order to fully enjoy this book. All in all a solid part of the whole.
