Publisher's Summary
The time has come for Leman Russ, primarch of the Space Wolves, to fulfil his vow and attempt to stop Warmaster Horus before he breaks through to the Segmentum Solar.
In the face of opposition from three of his brother primarchs, Russ withdraws the Space Wolves legion from Terra and makes all haste for Horus’ position. Reports from Malcador the Sigillite’s agents suggest that Horus is utterly changed and infused with a diabolical power so great that no man can stand against him. A warrior of Fenris would never willingly abandon his oaths, but with Horus beyond the touch of mortal blades, the Lord of Winter and War may have doomed himself for the sake of honour....

A wolfing good time.
Really enjoyed this book, and im not usually a Space Wolf fan. Guy Haley did a really good job bringing them to life in a well considered and engaging way in this book.
I didnt particuarly rate his author work before this book, but ill keep an eye out from now on.

Vlka fenryka like you've not seen them before
Outstanding story, this book adds a depth to the vlka fenryka unlike any prior stories about the legion. It's worth noting that there is a lot of assumed knowledge as this story is part of the larger Horus Heresy saga and is set in later stages of the holistic storyline.

Revisionist history
Leman Russ's lack of remorse casts his character in an unsympathetic light. Interest story nonetheless.

Terrific book, excellent reading
Any book from the black library is spectacular but Jonathan Keeble has a way of bringing the story to life with such passion. 10/10

Wolfsbane audiobook is so immersive.
This book brought alive the vlka fenryka like i have never known before. Jonathan Keeble did such an amazing job he should be commended for his talent and skill.
Any fans of the space wolves MUST listen to this. It is too good to pass up.
The only thing that would have made it better would have been some of the background sound effects similar to the other warhammer 40k audio books.

Russ is a lovable idiot.
i liked it but the main flaw was that it sought to explain the rational of a stupid decision...

WARHAMMER
Warhammer Demigids fight for the fate of the universe. Need I say more?! also this was almost an audio drama with the different voices and inflections. it was not a robot but a flesh and blood reader that seemed devoted to the characters as much as you or I.

Another great primary story
I love this series. Each book is very well written with awesome voice acting that really brings the world to life in my humble opinion. I really enjoyed the story of the wolves and their space leader Russ. I can not recommend this series highly enough especially for sci fi fans who enjoy a really great epic tale

I loved this book and it has become my 2nd favorite book in the Horus heresy novel (right behind Master of Mankind). the reader of this novel was the icing on this cake. he was fantastic and the voices were spot on to what I had imagined the characters would sound like. great novel, amazing performance. No problems at all with this one! Beautifully constructed story, and a real insight into the core of WH40k.
Jonathan Keeble obviously enjoyed this one too and conveyed the story in a fantastic delivery.

Excellent explanation of Fenrisian Philosophy
The story works well to explain the Fenrisian philosophy with regards to myths, magic, and the warp. It is also well acted, including the many accents used, which are not easy for one person alone.
