Ashlock wakes in the courtyard of a demonic sect... as a tree. A tree that eats people.

Cool idea that sticks to it's guns and doesn't immediately cave and give the Tree a humanoid form to make interacting with the world easier.
I don't think this kind of raw cultivation story is for me, but it was fun enough to enjoy the whole book.
The narration seemed a tad inconsistent with voices sometimes (sounding like one character when speaking as another), but overall was good with delivery and had enough variance to not be confusing.

The ain character is a tree who can't really move, but somehow this story just works so well. really fun isekai with eldritch beings as found family. I highly recommend.
