The Wilderness has a new Overlord.

In the wake of the Blood Lotus Sect's utter defeat, its previous territories, cities, and noble families are left without a leader. While chaos runs rampant throughout the lands as cultivators decide whether they should bow to their new ruler or flee, Ashlock is unable to give his all to putting out the fires as trouble brews at home.

Millions of mortals died during the Night of Reckoning, and discontent toward the All-Seeing Eye and the Ashfallen Sect festers in the minds of Ashlock's citizens as the beast tide looms ever closer.

Now sitting at the top and looking down at the crumbling world, it's time for Ashlock to make a decision.

Just what kind of ruler does he want to be?

Book seven of a unique reincarnation isekai LitRPG series set in a cultivator world. With millions of views and tens of thousands of followers, this was one of the most popular web serials of 2023.

These books always leave me pre ordering the next one , I can't wait for the next emotional roller-coaster. as a proud dad myself I cant help but feel like the character growth of those around ash and the world building in this story connects me to them deeply.

Lots of mistakes in this one. Presumably from the written book, but maybe the audio editing. Either way, someone hasn’t been doing their job properly. Or relying on AI to edit.

I like Ramon’s voice, but could definitely do some work on choosing the right words to emphasise within sentences. It’s quite jarring when the wrong word is emphasised based on the context of the scene and the character.

Lastly, now that the character list is growing, it would be good to see some more effort going into distinguishing the character voices.

Book itself felt like a bit of a filler. Seems like it lacked some of the novelty and excitement of the previous books. This seems like it could have been included in the next book. Considering the lacklustre production quality, longer books isn’t unreasonable.

Good story, poor editing
