Publisher's Summary

This pot of gold could hold more than they bargained for...

Grand. Just grand. Clara Donovan's failure to keep her brother from going off the rails - again - is a public spectacle. Including a handsome stranger who puts down his guitar case to help her talk Seamus down from Farthing's tallest bridge.

Everything about Danny Brady reminds Clara how many times she swore she'll never again be that pathetic, weak woman who got taken in by a good-looking man. Especially when, the next day, she walks into a new coffee shop in her little Irish town and discovers Danny's secret.

Danny didn't lie - technically - about his coffee shop chain. He's just tired of women going after him for his wealth. Clara is a graceful, fiercely loyal, non-Irish Irish damsel in distress, a combination that tugs at his heart. A heart that's spent its share of time in pieces.

Danny has never hesitated to go after what he wants, but melting Clara's defenses will take more than hot tea and charm. He'll have to prove he's made of stronger stuff - even when her past threatens to tear her carefully reconstructed world to shreds.

Love this story.

I really enjoyed the audible version of this story which I loved when I read it. Josie Rivera writes amazing stories with a lot of substance and well thought out characters as well as every scene. Her narrator for this audible book was amazing with her Irish accent. I found myself listening to the whole story all at one time just like when I read it all in one sitting. It's that good. There is definitely potential for more stories to make this a series. I hope that happens. I highly recommend you get this audible and the book to read.

Irish swoon

I’m not sure if I enjoyed this because the narrator was so fantastic, or I just liked Ireland. A great story that might be my favorite of this author.

Wonderful, realistic plot, clean romance

Story: 5 stars This story had real-life characters with problems such as alcoholism, co-dependency and yet there is deep family love and loyalty. The heroine has a jaded past and a restraining order out on her ex-con boyfriend. The hero is a workaholic owner of a chain of coffee shops. Yet these two seem pretty much perfect for one another. Narration: 5 stars The narrator must be Irish, her accent is just so believable! She reads with good expression and emotion. Her reading speed is just right, as well. There's some singing in the book and the narrator has a lovely singing voice! I'd happily listen to her again! (Her recording studio is a tiny bit echo-y, but you don't notice after about the first 2 seconds of listening.) *poor, **ok, ***good, ****very good, *****something special

Lovely clean romance

What a lovely book! I felt like I was on holiday in Ireland getting to know such wonderful characters! Clara and Danny were both darling. They had been through hard things but worked hard to make their best lives they could. Their story is beautiful. This book isn’t all pink roses... it deals with suicide, depression, addiction and more. It she’s so in a loving and gentle way. I thought the author did a great job of grounding the book with deeper issues, while presenting a lovely and clean romance! I listened to the audio version and the narrator was fabulous! The production itself was tinny and hard to hear... but I got used to that quickly and truthfully it didn’t distract from the book itself! I received this book for free in exchange of an review

Love is strongest when put through adversity

This has a different feel from the others in the series. It covers some hard topics and the short and long term effects of dealing with hard issues. Clara lived in the little town of Farthing Ireland and trying to overcome past mistakes and relationships. Danny has his own hard backstory that colors his outlook. He overcame and by his proverbial bootstraps became extremely successful. Josie covers hard issues delicately not excusing either Danny or Clara for their mistakes. A beautiful story of growth and redemption and of course love.

wonderful sweet romance

An amazing well written unexpected love romance story.  This intriguing storyline has forgiveness, love, fear, happiness, drama, perserverance and love for keeping a family together as they deal with overcoming the past and present. An incredible narration done with great accents really feeling the Irish nature. The characters are realistic and well developed with undeniable chemistry.  A must listen to romance.

Emotional Irish Romance

Clara Donovan is a tough Irish woman who will do anything to take care of those she loves including stealing as a child to feed her fellow hungry orphans, climb a bridge to rescue a suicidal brother, and work to pay off the debts that same brother has racked up. Danny Brady has worked his way out of poverty with drunken uncaring parents to become a successful businessman. He falls for Clara quickly, but when there is financial trouble with his business and he learns about her prior arrest for theft he accuses her thinking she might have has something to do with it along with her brother. Add in Clara’s abusive controlling ex who has recently been released from prison and is threatening her and this story had a lot of drama and high emotions. I loved that Clara enjoyed teaching dance to young children and all she wanted was her own dance studio and that Danny enjoyed singing even though he couldn’t do it very well. Both characters were flawed which made this Irish romance more real and interesting. I loved the narrator with her Irish accent and pronunciations and all her emotional and enthusiastic inflections. She kept me interested in the story and made me dream of visiting Ireland someday.

Enjoyable story, but bad audio quality

I'm glad that I stuck with listening to this story, as the tale itself was fairly good. However, I highly recommend listening to the sample before deciding if this recording is right for you. The sound quality is very bad and only slightly improves after chapter 10. The issue isn't the narrator so much as it is that the audio engineering is completely wonky and makes it sound like she's talking into a tin can the whole time. As someone who both records and listens to many audiobooks, I found it painful to listen to. But, as I said, the story itself is worthwhile. It has moments when it's quite powerful. For example, the opening begins with a woman whose brother is about to commit suicide and a man who comes to their aid. Through this story, the author shares some unvarnished truths about the impact grief and alcoholism can have on people, all while weaving an Irish love story.
