I gave an irreverent chuckle when hearing the description of the deceased’s body. However, that was momentary and I soon learned of the atrocities committed by the victim. However that wasn’t the end of the tale but I am glad that the ending turned out the way it did.

These are well read stories and this one was ingenious.

So, I’m three books in and I’ve guessed all three outcomes well before half way thru the books. There are no “twists and turns” at any point. The books all seem to “plod” along, with the main detective as clueless as the work experience kid! Also, it seems that 90% of that particular part of Essex is populated by only west county “farmers” 😆. Poor Kitty was given a v rare (for this narrator) working class London(ish) accent, when the rest of her family all appear to be from Somerset 🤔. 5% of the remainder of the village are from Yorkshire (not!), and the rest 🙄👎🏻.
Having said all of this, I think I’m “laugh” reading at this point. I have neuro disease and spend huge amounts of time in bed with only audiobooks from keeping me going insane. This series is free and the genre is one of my favourites, so I’m going to hang in there for at least one more book in the series 😆😆😆. I’m going for four out of four 🤓👍
