Publisher's Summary

After defeating the ice giants of the North and saving the dwarves, Mason faces his toughest challenge yet: politics.

Mason and his band of badass warrior women travel to Nalnora, the kingdom of the elves, in order to learn more about the master and his runic powers. However, the elves are not as forthcoming as the other kingdoms. To win them over, Mason must curry favor with the great eleven houses through various means: weapon building, assassination, and cultivating life saving medicine.

Oh, and he has to be careful not to be eaten by the Nalnoran landscape.

it's okay for the most part

the main character has a bit of personality but his personality is really kindof annoying. the most I connected with him is he lost his patience and shot a guy and even then it was like 0 to 100. didnt kneecap the guy just got pissed and shot him in the head. its something i could see him doing especially given the circumstances but the dudes supposed to be the goodie guy always helping. Killing a guy because you didnt like what he said and then he didnt even question it. Thats a heck of a moral leap there. Also the berries are getting old too. the whole eat these and your back to health with 0 consequences is convenient to move the plot along but it's also just really a cop out. The fact that his little harem is supposed to be so strong and willful but immediately just blush and step aside with any amount of flirtation is also incredibly annoying. it feels like hes not really in a relationship hes just got companions the he drags around and bangs occassionally... okay a lot. Also **spoilers???** the whole connecting to the earth was random an unneccessary. you dont need monk talk to say he just has to pay attention at the material to alter it. if hes just now thinking of it, I get that it would be more interesting to deepen your magic but Mason is literally brand new. saying hed never thought of altering somethings composition because it shouldn't be physically possible is a much more logical reason than "become the rock". I know the author will probably not see this and all but if there were anything I would say would improve the books it's making the women actual characters with differing views and who will actually put their foot down, and stop making everything so convenient for the mc. The hero can win overall he doesn't have to win literally all the time. This is essentially a series where everything goes the hero's way all the time. if you're looking for any real drama I wouldn't really suggest this but if you want to hear a decent overarching world with a lot of characters sure I could recommend it.

Almost Runed a good thing lol

Seriously, what a final battle. Not that the many others weren't impressive. And I need some of those berries. For an old arthritic fart like me to get extra vigor would be a godsend or goddess send in this case.
Awesome job.

thanks for the story

usually after the 3rd or 4th book in a series everything is watered down and predictable. this series is going strong with great new characters and evolving old ones. now that you have taken us to elven lands I am ready metal mage 12.
thanks for releasing them so quickly. I have hear/ listened/ read 350 books. hands down favorite author . the narrators are the best in audio book narration, without question. there are great male and female voices, I may start buying books to listen to them.

This one annoyed me.

the previous books were pretty good but for some reason the MC has become a completely arrogant and unreasonable dick. so its annoying.
