Den skuldtyngda kriminalreportern Tommy Westfelt bosätter sig i en husvagn efter en misslyckad bostadsrättsaffär. Han vill bara ligga lågt ett tag och samla kraft. Då dyker plötsligt trippelmördaren Tina Samminen upp med en resväska med två peruker och en pistol. Hon är "back in town" och snart blir Tommy indragen i en härva han helst hade varit utan. Samtidigt försöker kriminalinspektören Arne Olander nysta upp ett mord i en förort.
Christer Nygren, född 1956 i Sundsvall, är journalist och författare. Han har bland annat arbetat på Dagbladet och Sundsvalls Tidning. Under 1980- och 1990-talet skrev han åtta hårdkokta deckare som skildrar ett sönderfallande samhälle.
